It is interesting that you say this because I, too live in Ohio and I have yet to encounter this. If anything, I feel like I almost have to beat non-blacks off with a stick when it comes to my hair. I am saying that it seems to be taboo amongst blacks. I don't see many black women walking around rocking a natural. As a matter of fact, most people who see me out know me by my hair because as they put it " I am the only person they see wearing their hair like mine." What I do see, is a LOT of micros, weaves and the sort. This may not be the case for Cleveland or Columbus, but is definitely the case for Cincy/Dayton/Toledo.
