heights, unquestionably. i've had some awful and terrifying experiences, the most memorable of which was being on a ski slope, with skis on, thinking that the blue slope didn't go too much higher than the bunny slope and being VERY mistaken. when the ski village started to move back and forth in my vision (like it would come closer and then move away), i sat myself down on my butt and scooted myself all the way down the rest of the hill - it took about 45 mins.

needless to say that was also the last time i ever went skiing.

Bats. Just the suggestion that one may be nearby freaks me out.

I also have a somewhat irrational beyond disgust, but maybe not quite phobia of wet paper.

Pyrophobia- fear of fire

Also haven't been able to find out names for:

- fear of being deformed/losing a body part
- fear of crowds. May fall under agoraphobia, but I have no problem with open spaces. In fact, it is tightly packed crowds inside buildings that set it off the worst.

um... i have a fear of throwing up in public... when i get nervous .... i gag... which turns into dry heaves and then i really start freaking out....
i don't like other people throwing up( not like its an enjoyable experience) but sometimes i can take it (like holding a friends hair back at the end of the night) but if i'm sober... no way...

i HATE HATE HATE jello. or jiggly substances.... i can't even look at jello, talk about it....
even that sh*t thats on the top of mayo ....
ugh i'm gagging just thinking about it...

I hate flies... i freak out when i hear that buzzing noise... so i guess that includes bees... i can't even stand hummingbirds (though they are pretty...)
or crawly things... centipedes... big spiders.... bleh

oh dear lord...

BIG PARROTS... those huge parrots people walk around with on their shoulders? i can tolerate other big birds like hawks, but i just look at parrots and start to shake and sweat!

BRIDGES. people, they do collapse. not often, but they do.

HEIGHTS IN GENERAL. (see bridges!)

BIG SNAKES. anything big enough to escape and squeeze me to death.

FLYING. i am 26 and have been on a plane once. it was not a good experience. i prefer trains and buses now. the only plane i would trust not to crash is Air Force One!

thats pretty much it. spiders/bugs, dont bother me. i am the "man of the house" and have to kill everything.

I have horrendous acrophobia. It seriously affects my everyday life, the true definition of a phobia. I can't go above the 3rd floor in buildings, I can't stand on ladders, anything like that. It kind of sucks because I want to be a flight-nurse (on the medflight helicopters) but I'm going to have to do a lot of work to get over this.
Took a patient to the 4th floor the other day and I mistakenly looked out their window. NEVER AGAIN.

I also have a bad fear of falling which is probably partly responsible for my acrophobia. Don't know what it's called exactly but again, its a true phobia.

if this is something you want to do, then you should go to someone that specializes in phobias (duh) but specifically, behavior therapy. Through this type of treatment, you go through a process known as systematic desensitization, which uses a variety of techniques to help you work through your phobia and develop coping strategies when confronted with it.

I am terrified of deep water and bridges over deep water. I can swim but don't generally go in water over 10 feet. If a bridge is over railroad tracks, it doesn't bother me. I am also a tad claustrophobic too.

Heights and Snakes

Why? did the janitor just come in my office this morning to show me a snake that another janitor found in the school. I literally freaked out to the point where a teacher had to pray for me. I cried and screamed for a good while.

Tuesday evening, I ran over a snake in my car and almost had an accident trying to avoid it. Once again I was shivering, shaking, and screaming!!

spiders, snakes, creepy bugs. I've never seen a cockroach... thank goodness. I'd probably cry.
