I thought it was a phenomenal finale - much better than I expected it to be!

It was a very decent ending, even though I still think it was rushed.
Of course, I teared and cried, and felt like I was part of the town saying goodbye.

I'll really miss this show and those characters!

Was it just me, or did the closing scene remind you of the diner scene that is part of the credits montage (that I *think* is from the first episode of the series)?

Good episode - I was a little distracted, so I'm glad I taped it to watch again later this week (until this season comes out on DVD ) - but I didn't get as choked up as I thought I would. There was a little sand in my eye, though

According to spoilerfix.com, the writers intended the last scene to reflect the diner scene from the pilot episode.

Mom and I watched this together (as we've done every now and then these past 7 years) and we both teared up a bit, especially when Lorelai went in to check on the sleeping Rory. I think my mom remembered how it was like when I went away for the first time.

I was that Mama Kim wasn't there. She's always been one of my favorites and I had hoped that she would have been in more episodes after Lane and Zach got married.

All in all, a fitting ending, I think. Part of me wishes it was a special two hour episode, but then again, it's probably best that it wasn't because I don't think they've ever had one of those.

A lot of my favorite TV shows' series finales have sucked, and I'm glad this one didn't disappoint me.

All in all a great episode... with the goodbye theme and all...I would've like to have seen wrapped up with Logan a bit better... I mean... Rory and Lorelai aren't the type of women who talk over things like turning down a proposal only once or twice for a few minutes, they talk, they brood, they bring it up more than 1 time in the whole episode... IDK that just felt unresolved. the rest was fabulous... the similarities between pilot and ending... the coming together of Lorelai and her parents... it all just got me all warm and fuzzy inside.

I think if ASP had stayed on this season we woudl've gotten 13 more episodes... come fall.. but C'est la Vie.

I am SUPER curious as to what course ASP wanted to take the show and how she would've ended it.
