Photos from the set of LOST

Here are some of the photos I took this past week at some of the shooting locations for lost. I had to hike about 2 miles to get some of them, others were as simple as driing down the road...Man I love Hawaii!

1) This is the church that was used as the African church where Mr. Eko's brother Yemi was a priest

2) This is the YMCA Camp that is used as the filming spot for the Other's Camp

This is the wreckeage of the Nigerian Heroin plane that killed Boone

The Next to are of the camp while I am standing on the beach looking into camp:

The Graveyard with a NEW grave (NOT the one for NIKKI and Paolo, as that episode was shot weeks ago!)

Mr. Ecko's Church with the sweat lodge that Locke built inside

The next 3 shots were taken standing on the inside of camp looking towards the beach. The are a little blurry, as I was trying to take them quickly to avoid the security guard on duty.

I will post more later!!!

That episode was cool...so I guess Juliette is "evil" after all. Or maybe just an opportunist, who will do as Ben asks, in order to secure her way home? hmmm...

I also wonder if Ben is quite evil, and doctored that videotape of the sister Rachel with her son, Julian? My instincts point that her sister's cancer DID come back and that she did die, and Ben merely played those tapes to placate her.

Hmmm......

I really enjoyed last night's ep as well! Just as I was about to give Juliet the benefit of the doubt, the revelation in the last few minutes of the show changed all that. Now, *THAT'S* the Lost I know and love!!!

And, thanks for posting those awesome pics, FloridaTish!

Ooo, fun pics! I enjoyed them!

And I so knew Juliet was evil... poor Jack's gonna feel like an idiot when the Others come and make serious trouble after he was protecting her all this time...

I also think that Ben is the most evil of all, and I am sure that he found a way to fabricate those videotapes of Rachel and her son, Julian!!!

And I am kinda glad that Jack is gonna get the big fat "I told you so" comeuppance!!! He's been bugging me for a while.

FloridaTish, I totally forgot that you came home! Hope you had a wonderful time! DolphinChicaDDD was here for 6 days and just left Wednesday night! DolphinChicaDDD went to Pearl Harbor, where she saw the USS Bowfin, aka the sub Locke "blew up."

I was gonna ask you how you got around security. My friend Ryan (who used to do the LOST podcasts) always mentions that security's tight. I remember having a run-in with one of them when I accidentally stumbled onto one of their flashback sets.

I'd love to see the beach sets myself, but the drive to the North Shore can be a pain in the ass. The Others' camp is Camp Erdman, where we held our Sisterhood Retreat my last semester as a collegian. It wasn't yellow back then, and I can assure you that the houses weren't nice and furnished like Jack and Juliet's houses!

Oh well, back to Merrie Monarch. Am in Hilo for the weekend, but I'm somewhat bored because the good halaus haven't gone up yet. It's gonna be one long night. Yay for Treos that keep me distracted.

I'm thinking that Juliet has something else going on altogether. She's not necessarily an "Other" but she has something planned.

I'm super excited b/c on the April 25th episode, we're going to find out who the father of Sun's baby is. YAY! Next week is a Desmond episode so that ALWAYS makes me happy.

I didn't know it was the USS Bowfin that was used as the sub...! We we're wondering where that was filmed.

When it came to getting on the set, it was an interesting story. On Tuesday April 3rd, we had gone out to Dillingham Airfield (near Camp Erdman) and went out for an Ultralight (powered hang glider) sunrise flight. Denise and Tom, our instructors, were nice enough to show us while we were up in the air, exactly where the beach set was filmed and they gave us directions to get to the set via the back way. Just north of Hale'iwa is a street alled Papialoa and it is a dead end residental street. If you just go down to the end of the street, you can park and there is a small dirt trail through the woods that leads to the back side of the set. It wasn't until that you get to the dirt path that runs behind the set (for the production truscks and equipment) that the No Trespassing signs are posted. When we hit the path, there was a guy there watering plants and I asked him if I could take a couple of photos really quickly. he told me to go around to the North side of the set, as security was down on the south side of the set. It was about 8:00 am and there was no one there, as production was not going on that morning. I was able to get three quick, albeit a little blurry, photos from the back side of the camp set looking out towards the beach.

The next day we were going to the Big Island for the day, so we decided to try and access the front/beach side of the set on Thursday morning. From the air, it looked to be about a 3/4 mile walk along the beach from Hale'iwa Beach park, so we figured, why the hell not? A nice stroll along the beach at sunrise...how romantic...

Romantic, yeah right....It was not a walk, it was a full on HIKE through sand that was the consistency of quicksand. My legs were screaming in pain 1/2 way through the trip. Well, brilliant me decides, we could just walk along the rocks since it was low tide and the rocks were a nice flat surface. We walked along for about 100 ft and then all the sudden, whoops! Both my legs fly out from under me and I land butt/tailbone first, then flat on my back on the very slick algae covered rocks I stepped onto. Luckily I tucked up my head, otherwise I would have had a wicked concussion.

Still we forged on. My entire backside looked like I suddenly developed a wicked case of colon blow and I was soaking wet. Great! I still have another 1/2 way to go and my clothes are filthy, my butt hurt and I had blood all down my legs from the cuts I got. Let me tell you, I was looking really awesome...yeah right!

Finally I said forget this sand BS, I'm going to walk at the top of the sand are where there was a bit of traction from the grass and tree branches and we came to an an area where the access road for the production trucks to use was. Basically we could either go left or right...Right would lead us down the production road and eventually to Kam. Hwy were we could walk to our car. To the Left was the way to the LOST set. Physically, I was ready to give up, but I decided that there was no way I was wimping out as I had come this far. We decided to take the access road and while we were doing so, we were passed by a car who just waived to us, so we figured, "Ok that's a good sign!" the next thing we know we see a dirt path leading up towards the beach, which we decided to take since we knew it was legal to access the set area as long as we were on the beach. It turns out that the path led right up to the area where the Graveyard and Mr. Eko's church was. I was so excited! I took a few pictures and then we rounded the bend on the beach and there was the set. I was in Heaven.

We knew the security guards were there, as they waived to us, so after taking pictures we got our stuff to leave, hoping to just take the access road. That's when we ran into the Security guy. He was really nice and let us know that the area we were in was restricted and was considered tresspassing with a $500 fine and potential night in jail. No fun!

I explained to him that I understood the rules, but that I had injured myself and was it possible to walk the access road back to our car. He said he was the head of security, so he couldn't do it, but he'd see if one of his guys could give us a ride. We stood around for 5 minutes in the graveyard and then a truck pulls up and we hopped in the back and he took us down a very long access road back to Hale'iwa beach park. We gave him $20 (the only cash we had on us) and thanked him for being so kind. He told us we just got the behind the scenes tour that NO ONE gets, as we were able to pass see the actors trailers and other production stuff.

It was way cool and I'm glad I did it, but unless you are used to walking on wet heavy sand and in very good shape, it's not as easy as it seemed when I was 2000 feet above and looking down onto the beach!

We also took pictures of the Others Camp and another bunch of places used for filmimg. I admit I was a total cheese ball. Jason, my husband, kept saying I'd probably go into cardiac arrest if I got to see one of the actors.

On a side note, I did run into Pierce Brosnan (aka James Bond 007) at the LA airport. Very Dashing and even better looking in person. I felt sorry for him as the handle from his Louis Vuitton suitcase broke. Just goes to show that $2000 on a suitcase doesn't mean things don't break....He was quite dreamy!

Heh heh heh. Sawyer is such a prick...I LOVE him. I loved how he told Kate that all she had to do was ask if she wanted some sex again.

I'm working on VERY little sleep here, so forgive me if this doesn't make sense (I reserve the right to edit tomorrow!)...

Do you think it's possible that the Island doesn't allow pregnancies to continue to term because of its funky Island time? I mean, pregnancy has a very specific time table - heartbeat is detectable at time x, sex is detectable at x+1, lung function is achieved at x+2, delivery is achieved at x+3, etc... Since time doesn't flow at the same rate ON the island as it does OFF the island, pregnancy gets out of whack. So, it isn't the pregnancy itself that is fatal to the mothers. Instead, it's the fact that time doesn't... cooperate?

Have they ever said that time flows differently on the island though than regular time? If they did, I missed it b/c I was under the impression that the island still passed time regularly.

That was so bizarre that the Spanish/Chinese/Italian speaking woman was mumbling, "they found the plane...there were no survivors". I wonder if they are functioning in some sort of alternate Bizarro universe? And the fcuk did that guy "survive" getting vaporised by that electric fence? He was sure evasive as to how he could still be alive? Maybe they have the same "cloning" machine as in the movie "The Prestige"?

There has never been a specific mention of time passing differently on the island. Even in last night's episode, Juliet told Sun that she had gotten pregant on the island since they had been there 90 something days and she was only 4-6 weeks along...Granted Juliet is a lying wench, but the issue of time warps/alternate reality has never been formally addressed on the show.
