I saw that- and I believe it was because something went wrong with the equipment (no pun intended) during the circumcision, and they decided to do gender reassignment and raise the child as a girl. Apparently it was a good idea in theory but the results were disasterous.
It also gets my vote for most depressing episode ever.

That could have something to do with the therapist making her act out sex with her twin brother...

Was this episode on TV yesterday?
I think I overheard something about this while my hubby was watching it

Has anyone heard of this? Or know women who were LUG/BUGs? I find this strange, because half of the lesbians I know were actually "straight" during their high school and college years, not the other way around. Are these the same girls who do it because it is trendy? Or were they geniunely lesbian or bi and went straight because they thought they'll catch more drama in the "real world" for their orientation?

I had a friend who was a BUG in college
Also - I was a "Fruit Fly" in college.
And I did a report on GID for one of my Psychology classes

According to one of my friends, who has a lot more knowledge about LGBT issues than I do....the Kinsey Scale is based on experience, and not desire.
If that is true, I don't find the Kinsey Scale valid at all, if experience is supposed to dictate your orientation. That would put me at 0, eventhough my sexual attraction to the opposite sex is relatively low.

It's a true story. And it gets more depressing.

Apparently, it's okay to type "asshole" on here but not "F a u s t," hence the spacing between the letters in "F a u s t o."

She is a professor at my undergrad, where LUGs were quite common. One I know is getting married next month.

That used to be the standard for a botched circumcision or for any sort of uncertainty about the babies physical sex. At the time, doctors thought it was all about how we were raised. Yeah, that didn't work out so well.

I love SVU though - its one of my favorite shows. That was an interesting episode - depressing and dark, but then again many SVU episodes are.
(not to continue the hijack or anything... )
