In our chapter, you need to have valid excuses for not attending meetings & philanthropy events. If you repeatedly miss the neccessary things, you can't do the fun things like dances, socials, Sisterhood events, and older girls risk not being able to get a little. After a while, you are put on probation and if you don't pay your bills after 30 days, your parents are contacted. As far as I know, our chapter had never had a problem with this, but another group had to get the sorority dues tacked onto the girls tuition because she would not cough up the money.
