Columbus is really close to the Georgia/Alabama line and about 35 miles from Auburn University. So the alums you could pull on for support could be in either state.
Good luck to all the groups!
(but I may have a favorite)

All of these presentations (and charters) at Southern colleges makes me wonder if Gamma Phi is gearing up to go after a school like Florida, Texas or Ole Miss down the line. Our expansion team has been working like crazy apparently!

I think you have the right idea... I know the new VP of Collegiate Extension. She lives in Birmingham and is all about expanding more in the South.
All of our new chapters in the past decade or so have been in the South, with the exception of one in Penn., if I'm not mistaken!

I am the current chapter adviser for Alpha Delta Omega at CSU. All three sororities have presented this week and did extremely well. I know Panhellenic will have a tough decision.
Good Luck to all three groups. I would say I would keep yall updated but I am kind of slow on this posting thing so inevitably someone will make it on the board before I am able too.

Wonder what size they are in students?
Seems the Greeks have a lot of locals so should be open for expansion!
Any it good!
Oh, there is nothing wrong for having locals, but it does give a big bigger mix and more security.

Well, my chapter was installed in Jan. 1997, in California, and I think Valpo and one other (St. John's?) followed shortly after. But you're right that almost all of the ones since my installation have been in the south.

While Gamma Phi is not at UF, they have been in the state of Florida since 1950 with their chapter at FSU. UF and FSU often compete to be the bigger school in the state, so they are both good places for a chapter. I am kinda partial though since one of my aunts is a Gamma Phi Alum from FSU!

I know we have FSU, and FIT and Jacksonville for that matter, but my post was regarding Gamma Phi going after MORE big southern schools, Florida being just one of them.
