This story is sad, what makes it worse is no one will accept responsibility for this. Everyone is passing the buck on this. At a minimum, the person that sold the product should have attempted to replace the furniture. No way I'd sit on that furniture. I definitely would have asked for my money back, I wouldn't support someone that would put something like that on a package.

Okay, this is really sad. There was a 1 year old child that was rushed to the emergency room and died due to blunt trauma to the stomach. The mom is a 16 year old and had hired this 23 year old to keep the baby while she went to school.

Anyway, this is video from the courtroom appearance. The mom of the baby is in the black and white stripped shirt.

Colorism in India

I know this involves Indians, but the color complex is everywhere:

Bride turns down "dark" groom Sun May 20, 8:07 AM ET

Turned down for marriage due to his dark complexion, an Indian man staged a hunger strike outside his would be bride's house for two days before she finally relented, an official said Saturday.

Saral Prasad, the 23-year-old groom in eastern Bihar state, said he would not budge from the girl's village home after she refused to marry him earlier this week in an arranged marriage because he was too dark.

Rajani, 19, changed her mind after two days and the couple got married, Arun Kumar Mishra, a village council official said.

"We were all taken by surprise but Rajani was finally moved by the gesture of the young man and married him," Mishra said.

Most Indian women, especially those in rural areas, often have no choice in matters of marriage, and are coerced into it by relatives and parents.

Dad threw 4 tots off bridge for revenge, police say

BAYOU LA BATRE, Alabama (AP) -- Authorities searched Wednesday for the bodies of four children believed to have been thrown off a bridge by their father.

Lam Luong, 37, of Irvington confessed Tuesday night to driving to the Dauphin Island bridge, stopping and tossing the youngsters off the span, which is as high as 80 feet above the water in places, Detective Scott Riva said.

Missing and presumed dead were 4-month-old Danny Luong; 1-year-old Lindsey Luong; 2-year-old Hannah Luong; and 3-year-old Ryan Phan. Phan is not the man's biological child, but Luong raised him from infancy, authorities said.
