Found here, it says that in The Goblet of Fire (Chapter 36) it was Fawkes who was the phoenix to give the feathers for both wands.

It's in Goblet of Fire. When Harry learns why the wands fought each other. It is definately Fawkes' feathers in both wands.

Perfect, thanks. I read the books immediately when they're published and then I don't look at them again until the next book (or movie) so I am forgetting a lot of this stuff.
