So, going on the theory that a horcrux was created when Harry & Voldemort first "fought" (and it's not the scar)...I'm thinking that the "last" horcrux is something that Harry's had with him since that night, and Voldemort's battles with Harry so far is about getting the horcrux back into his control.
If this is true, then what item has Harry had with him since he was a baby and could possibly be the horcrux?

I can't think of any object that Harry's had since infancy, at least not that JKR has mentioned thus far in the books. I think the Marauder's Map and the Invisibility Cloak are all untainted. I wonder if Voldemort could have put a horcrux in the Mirror of Erised?
I do think that there is something further significant about his wand. After all, some bird gave 2 feathers for the wands to be made: 1 feather went into Voldemort's wand, and 1 feather went into Harry's, making it the "brother wand" to Voldemort's. Could the wand be a Horcrux? After all, the wand "chooses" the wizard, not the other way around. Hmmmm.......
Or maybe....since Harry was a baby at the time his parents were killed, maybe Voldemort put a horcrux into Harry's baby rattle or something, and it's in a trunk in the basement of Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia's house, or something like that?

It was actually Fawkes who gave the 2 feathers. The only two he's given.
I don't think Ollivander would have carried a wand touched by Voldemort (and horcrux'd) I dunno... i don't think there's anything Harry had that was brought with him by Hagrid to Privet Drive. He was just a bundle of baby.

A phoenix gave the feathers, but do we know that it was specifically Fawkes?
"I remember every wand that I've sold Mr. Potter, every one. It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather resides in your wand, gave another feather. Just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand when its brother gave you that scar."

Found here, it says that in The Goblet of Fire (Chapter 36) it was Fawkes who was the phoenix to give the feathers for both wands.

It's in Goblet of Fire. When Harry learns why the wands fought each other. It is definately Fawkes' feathers in both wands.

Do these people not realize that it is all made up? It can't teach children to perform spells that aren't actually SPELLS. They're just quasi latin words. Waving a stick around and saying them will not a) cause magic to happen or b) summon the devil to take your soul to hell. (I know, I've tried)

I agree it's not the scar. Many people get curse scars, that's not just in Harry's case (Ron said so, I forget which book). But Harry hasn't had anything that was his since he was a baby, except the blanket he was wrapped in (long gone) and the note from Dumbledore (which was Petunia's). There's his dad's invisibility cloak, but that's been with Dumbledore until it got to Harry. So I don't know about this one. I still think that Voldy never got to make the last horcrux b/c he never succeeded in killing Harry. So maybe there'll turn out to be 5.
