Question Anniversary Ideas Needed!

The DH and I celebrate our FIRST anniversary on Saturday, and I'm completely out of ideas. Money is definitely tight in these here parts, so I can't be as extravagant as I'd like. If anyone has any creative ideas (other than the typical dinner/night out scenario), I'd certainly love to hear them.

I can't believe it's been a year already..wow.

I think that is Beautiful!!!

Hear are some ideas:

If you either one of you have your own place have an indoor picnic by candlelight. This can be VERY romantic....White/Red wine or Sparkling Cider...whatever food you like....on the blanket just like you would do outside....strawberries or whatever fruit you like with whip cream/cool whip. Soft music playing in the background...unplug or turn off ALL forms of communication (house phone/cell/beeper/computer, etc.)

For Valentines day last year, I had next to NO money. So what I did was purchase different size hearts and a valentine hanging thing and decorated our apartment....put our dinning room table in the middle of the living room floor...decorated that with red & white candles and we had dinner. Afterwards we cuddled on the sofa and watched Soul Food the Series.

I hope this helps!

What is a DH?

That's a fantastic idea, zetafg! I think I might just do that...

Zetafg--that is a good idea. In addition to the time spent gazing into each others eyes, why not let your creativity flow and exchange personal poetry or writings. Sort of like a "So True1920" and "DH" Hallmark anniversary card. Let the images and words be from the heart and design them in way that they can be keepsakes always reminding you both of that very first anniversary together.

Little to no money but maximum impact.

I have made my DH coupon booklets in the past. They can be for any "gifts" you want to give him..back rubs, breakfast in bed, "get out of jail free", etc. just be creative!

Happy Anniversary!

Those are GREAT ideas ladies. I did something very similar to Soror Zetafg. One New Year's Eve my old boyfirend and I went to dinner at a restaurant and then went back to his place. I sent him to get a "list" of things at the neighborhood store. While he was gone, I decorated the room with New Year's decorations, streamers, party glasses, hats, horns, etc. Then I double locked the door so he would need to fumble for his key and had on the door step his "invitation." He opened it and it was an invitation to an "exclusive" New Year's Eve party for him. He came in and I handed him a glass of champagne, fed him a morsel of chocholate, had the party music going and let the dancing and party start!

He loved it and this was great for me, cause I don't like clubs and big parties, and is something I will do again, with different variations (adding party games and making a dessert bar).
