is your knee really swollen around the knee cap area? i ask only because they thought my roommate had a meniscus tear as well (she's a dancer), and it actually turned out that the sacs of fluid were badly inflammed and she needs to do PT to strengthen the muscles - all triggered by falling on her knee cap one day in class. maybe that's what's going on with your knee too - hope it gets better though, i've watched her struggle because of the knee pain, it takes a lot out of you

Yeah after looking at the MRI and after cutting my knee open for my ACL surgery the dr. said he never saw meniscal damage. I know my knee pops and clicks a lot though. I think I have a floating kneecap or something.

No it's swollen through the entire joint. I'm taking celebrex twice a day for the inflammation. Last year I had a lateral release done (after a year of excruciating pain that no one would/could fix!) and they said that my kneecap had softened and there was a small crack in it. I don't know what they'll find this time. Personally what I feel is necessary is a hamstring tendon debridement. I know my knee and leg are weak. PT isn't going to get rid of the inflammation though, it just makes it worse. I know this through experience. I'm not ranting at you, just in general because doctors frustrate me.

actually, not so. i had rheumatoid arthritis last year and it sucked like a motha! the doc says it can happen at any age because it tends to be brought on my stress, among other things. took some prednisone and it was gone.
p.s. my sickness has turned into an insane fever. i had to call out of work.

I have osteoarthritis. My mom was diagnosed at 20, so I'm sure heredity is playing a role in it. It sucks because I've always been a runner and I'm already having serious problems with my knees and back.

Generally speaking, I have a pretty bad post-nasal drip. Currently I have cold-like symptoms: runny nose, head congestion, cough. On Saturday I took a combination of medicines (DayQuil, NyQuil, Tylenol Head Congestion) and NOTHING worked. Yesterday, I took NOTHING and felt just as bad, if not a little better.
A mess! I can't tell if this is seasonal allergies or what!

Sounds like what I have going on. My nasal passages were completely clogged up the other night. I've taken my allergy medicine and cold meds but nothing seems to be working.

No, but it's finally going away. Mild congestion, but I'm only blowing my nose 2-3 times a day now, instead of 20-30.

I swear I get this every year about this time. I have to take Allegra and usually antibiotics. Fortunately I'm getting a little relief from the pollen right now since the weather is so cold here (in the Ozarks).

Hmmm...my mom and I have been having the allergy/sinus infection argument for a week, it never occurred to me it could be both. I never had allergies until sophomore year. I was fine last year and now this year all hell broke lose. I kept taking cold medicine, but NOTHING worked, which is the same how it went sophomore year. *sigh* My body's so weird. *shrug*

not being able to speak really illustrates how important speach and language are to human society.
i still feel like ass, though
stupid weather. First it is 80, then 50, then I have a four hour karate test, then it snows, and my voice is gone
