I wish Iran would just give those people up.

I feel like they are just using this as an excuse to start $*(& with the West.

teehee.

How is this not at this point being interpreted as a hostile act on Iran's part? How are Britain and it's people reacting? This just seems like yet another ploy to make the west look evil to the populations of the middle east. "They crossed into our water?" It's water...escort them back over, jeez.

I agree that it's just another ploy to make the west look evil.

Is it normal for countries to have territory in the water? LIke do they have specific coordinates that are "Iranian" and "non Iranian"? (or "US" or "Canadian water", etc)

That just seems odd.

It's very normal - every nation has territorial claims on the waters around them... problems arise though when the exact "borders" of a nation's claim are disputed (much like land-nased borders) and even the closest of allies guard their claims zealously.

For example a bone of contention between Canada and the US is the Canadian claim to the waters in the high arctic: Canada says it falls within the 12 nautical mile limit, the US says it doesn't because it disputes Canadian land claims to islands in the high arctic.

Anyways:

That wouldn't even require much bombing. They haven't really come along that much.
