LOL....this takes me back
to when me and my friends would sneak into the old Generator (knowing good and well we were underage)
I grew up on House Music....I remember seeing the old signs tied to the streetlight posts advertising parties @ the Bismark and my sister and cousins would go to parties at Mendel or Whitney Young.

Ahh house music! I love the bump of the beat just kicks me to the dancefloor. That vid with the big "girl' is funny especially when I found out it was men.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE House Music! (House Music all night long, House Music all night long...)
One of my good friends is a GREAT House Music DJ and still plays (Terry Alford). There's a link to his MySpace Page on my blog with samples of his music. He also hosts a series of Internet music shows as well!
Goodness, I miss the late 80s!

The radio station I listen to is broadcast online via mp3 stream and windows media. You have to sign up with the station but they dont send out any spam and are locally owned (as opposed to Clearchannel owned or otherwise). You can listen from anywhere in the world.

During the commericals, they play this sort of background track that is not house so dont freak out when you hear it. Happy listening.

DJ Sting International played for Soul Summit @ Ft. Greene Park in Brooklyn this past Sunday. It was BANANAS!!!
Here's a glimpse of him putting it down for the true House Heads in NYC:

I LOVE HOUSE MUSIC!!!! All of us of a "certain age" grew up to house music in Chicago. On the weekends, I remember that's all the urban radio stations would play was house mixes and I used to cue up my tape recorder/boom box to record the hottest mixes.
In college, the non-Chicago natives would come to NU and look at us like we were crazy and we, in turn, had a hard time "dancing" to the hip hop of the day because the beat was too slow.
My favorites were "You used to Love Me" and "French Kiss" as well, as "Love Can't Turn Around"
"Good Life" was actually our chapter's theme song before my line came in.
