Okay, you gotta tell us where you go to school. It's not like it'll make a difference in this thread

Nope, farther South. We don't say y'all in Maryland and DC. If I am correct, she goes to school in a town that is one of my favorite places to go on a weekend vacation!

I grew up in Md and don't say y'all that much, but it does come out occasionally! I went to UMD where much (maybe 50%) of the Greek System is from NJ and NY.

Also I don't consider NC to be mid-Atlantic. NC is the South to me...

Also UM has more than 10 chapters. I doubt many people at American U say y'all...

I am thinking a Virginia school- but I don't know the number of chapters at James Madison, UVa, William & Mary, Lynchburg, Roanoke, etc.

All of these have 10 chapters and are in the Mid-Atlantic area...

Duke
UNC Chapel Hill (has 10 chapters now, but I don't think it did 2 years ago)
Clemson (I would consider this one truly Southern)
College of William and Mary

My vote is William and Mary

Ooooo yeah -- with the "porch songs?" Oh wait, do they get to do those still? Some of the unique, "fun" traditions have gone away with the "frills."

sidenote: i never understood this logic - most people i know say "y'all" in NYC - is that a different "y'all" than the southern "y'all?"
