What Makes You Feel Grown?

Writing checks makes me feel grown. When I was a child, I thought it was a really grown up thing to do. It seems more grown to me than using a credit card. I knew folks in high school with those, but only our parents had checkbooks.

It also feels grown to have a house, be married, and be living in a state where none of my family lives. It feels grown to be expected to bring food to family events. Kids just get to show up.

When I looked in the mirror and realized the changes of myself from a girl to the woman I have become. (And thankful in growing everyday)

-Going on random road trips and calling my mother from whatever state I am in to tell her im not home

-Going to church on my own without my mother dragging me out of bed

-Eating dinner at 3am!
