And truly, a black man who knows himself, would love the package that comes with being a black man...to include the various hair textures that we black folks are born with, as well as everything else that comes along with us being...us.
I'm not trippin' on who you date or fall in love with, but rather, I'm trippin' on you denouncing our genetic parts, and a black man, just wouldn't do that.
Standing ovation!

Delph998,

I must render this thought. I believe that the grand issues that are parriah like, plaguing our race, does not exist in the hearts of black women, but moreover, find their truest conflagrations deeply embedded within the guttural regions of the black man's sense of consciousness. Hence, the Sambo syndrome is in full affect...if indeed that person was a black man. I doubt it though. Nuff said.

I'm saying that the majority of the issues that are negatively affecting our race, begins in the hearts and minds of our men.

Glad to know that I wasn't the only one who questioned the validity of this post. Also, I just want to thank everyone for not flying off the handle and stooping to the "Oh not the hell he didn't" trap that I'm sure the poster wanted. I'm glad that we were able to keep this on the positive and represent as the educated Black people we are.

Race Versus Other Factors

While I (like my role model Michael Eric Dyson) LOVE BLACK WOMEN TO NO END, I am not necessarily limiting myself to simply black women. WhileI have only dated outside my race once, I must admit that I can be attracted to a variety of mental/physical attributes and ethnicities.

What I'M MOST CONCERNED ABOUT are whether or not she will be a good mother, a good helpmate, and whether or not she is caring and understanding enough to support my ambitions and chase her own.

Plus she gotta have pretty feet and good credit too...

Y'all are hilarious

Hey, if you search my posts prior to August, 2003 you will find I said all kinna thangs before I was married.

But after being married nearly 4 years, which has been tough, I found that if I had invested my time in being AKA_Monet more than runnin' up under men, then I'd be in an enriched marriage than trying to go thru stuh right now.

Simple stuh, like toilet seat up or down--or flushin' for that matter... Or a symphony poots whenever I'm around... Chit like dat.

Hey, dating is supposed to be for fun. Courting is more for marriage. We had this discussion.

Mr. Troy86, if that's your age, you could be my child... And since you said some ignant crap like this and posted in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Ave, I, like your Mama, am going to have to correct you...

You ain't said NUTHIN' about dating before you said CHILDREN. I am not ready to be anybody's grandma! So, keep you little ding-a-ling in your pants. You are an HIV/AIDS case waiting to happen! Do you want baby's mama drama at 21 years old? You have your entire life ahead of you and all you wanna do be OJ'ed (notice how he's in the news again) and have some white man blow your brains for "raping" his daughter? Are you nutz? You wanna be Bubba's boyfriend in prison? And even if homegirl chases up under you, you think it's perfectly fine to NOT marry her after you knocked her up? Well, it's your death warrant. And like a mother, I have to say I love you and it's your life. Besides, you might be the only somebody that your mama loves... So, you need are reality check. Do you choose to be under someone's Glock on the pavement hogtied? Or do you wanna be shakin' the man's hand when you get your bacalaureate diploma or after your first job interview?

Ultimately, you have choices in your life. What you do with them is upto you.

I know this isn't the subject of the thread, but would you really let an otherwise qualified lady go because of her credit? How early in the dating stages do you inquire about credit? Just wondering...
