Sorry!

Sorry to re-hash an old subject! I used the search to look for a similar thread before posting, and the thread from '03 did NOT come up. Hmmm.... maybe my key words weren't exactly right.

I think that it is sooo awesome that so many of our families represent so many groups!!! Yay for GREEK pride!!!

This search was trickier than some because the search terms -- Greek, family, specific Greek letters -- are so common throughout GC. I found it only because I knew I had posted in that thread, so I could search my own posts only and narrow down some specific words I knew I would have used in my post. I still had to go through four or five pages of results.

Grandmother - Kappa Kappa Gamma
3 Aunts - local at PSU, have to find out what it became
1 Cousin - Sigma Sigma Sigma
2 Cousins - Alpha Delta Pi which is really strange, because at the time each of us pledged, none of us knew that the others were ADPis! We each found out when we saw each others' names in the Adelphean.
2 male Cousins were Greek, but I don't know which GLO(s). My cousins are all much older than I (like 20+ years).

Me: Alpha Phi

Haha that's about all I know! lol

My cousins' grandmother (her dad's mom) is a Delta Gamma, but I don't know if I can consider her since she *technically* isn't related to me.

The only Greeks I know in my family are two male cousins;they are both great men--they are both Ques, Sons of Blood and Thunder, men of Omega Psi Phi.

My great uncle was a Delta Upsilon at Carnegie Mellon. I have his badge. We also found with some family jewelry recently an SAE Badge. There is no name on the back. We aren't sure who it belonged to. I also found a Theta pin, it is not a badge. It is a bar pin in gold with the crest on it. Then I have my grandfather's DTD badge from the 1940s. My uncle through marriage his father was a Beta at Tulane back in the 1940s.

Since I've posted this, I've discovered that the 3 great aunts were members of the local which became Kappa Alpha Theta.

DH's Great Nieces:
1 - Gamma Phi Beta
1 - Delta Gamma

My brother didn't have any children, but of the kids who call me Auntie, so far:
1 - Delta Tau Delta
1 - Alpha Omicron Pi (no ADPi chapter there, she said it was the closest!)
1 - Alpha Delta Pi

No apologies necessary. To me, at least, it's interesting because my family is so lacking in Greek alums.
