Hey Makeup Lovers!!
Just an FYI
http://www.blacknews.com/pr/628cosmetics101.html
Never Pay Full Price For Professional Cosmetics Again --Frustrated with the rising cost of professional quality cosmetics, two African American sisters launched a new website that offers high-end cosmetics, for low-end prices.--
Bolingbrook, IL (BlackNews.com) - Like everything else, the cost of high quality cosmetics have sky-rocketed. The days of $10.00 lipsticks at the mall, are long gone, well not anymore. Sisters, Theresa Phillips, and Tasha Pitchford have developed a line of high quality cosmetics to help ease the purchase of your favorite beauty products.
"We were just tired of paying high prices for quality make-up such as MAC®, and Iman®," said President Tasha Pitchford. "We needed a solution, and it was not your local drug or discount store makeup." This is why www.628cosmetics.com was launched in 2006.
The name 6.2.8 Cosmetics, was decided on because the two sisters share the same birth date June, 28. "My sister, and I love make-up," said CEO, Theresa Phillips. "We felt like professional black women needed a way to get quality make-up for lower prices."

Thanks for posting this. Although I am still loving my Bare Minerals make-up, I may try out a lipstick or two from this company. I really like the color "Godiva".
ETA: And I just noticed that their lipsticks were buy one get one free!

Dr. Susan Taylor's Rx for Brown Skin
Links: Sepora, Rx for Brown Skin
Have any GCers tried this skincare line? I received a free sample of the Bright and Healthy Ultra-Gentle Moisturizer. It worked well, and left my unusually DRY skin moisturized. I really want to try the Ultra Gentle Cleanser.

i've been using the rx for brown skin (bright & even) for almost a month and i have to say that my skin looks and feels so much better now. my pores are smaller, my skin is smoother and softer, and much more even.

What shade are you? I've been wearing this for about 9 months now, and also just purchased warm radiance, which I absolutely love!

I wear warm tan, and wasn't thrilled about it because I felt like I looked ashy - but I think I may have been applying too much, especially on the forehead. I think I may have found what help me with that as well. I don't officially have the tinted mineral veil, but when I went to a BE store, she put a little AOFC in my MV that I brought with me from home for possible exchange. I also wore some AOFC for my foundation for a while, but it wasn't doing what I wanted. So about 2 months ago, I purchased more warm tan (had exchanged it in June for the AOFC) and the BE handy buki brush. Now I do the foundation, then the AOFC, then the MV, then the warm radiance, and I'm in love again!
I also understand that there are a couple of other companies that have mineral makeup especially for women of color.

My cousin uses purminerals which is the pressed powder for those that have seroius acne problems (which she does) and she loves it because she gets the coverage that she needs and it doesn't feel cakey!
I also had to tweak my foundation until they came out with the warm deep shade! I love the tinited mineral veil because it has a hint of warmth in it so I don't need to use the warmth AOFC! But in the winter time I wear the dark foundation because I'm a little lighter during the winter months than summer!

I purchased my 1st products right before Thanksgiving and I love them!!!!
I have finally gotten it right. I mix Warm Tan & Warm Deep, and I get the coverage I need. I also love Well Rested, I work 3rd shift now so when I 1st started wearing it, my co-workers were like WOW, what have you done differently, I just smiled & went on my merry way. It really makes your eyes POP!

This is what I was thinking about doing. I was also told to possibly mix warm tan with warmth as well. I don't have any warmth, but I might try to get some later. I was also told that Leslie and the BE crew are working on shades for us. I think what my problem was initially, though, was that I was using too much and not using the right brush. I now use the handy buki brush and apply in layers, if I need to.

Thanks for the update. My skin isn't bad, but it could definitely be better. I might have to look into this.
