I-week at UTC Zeta Phi

Just found out that 9 out of 31 associates made their grades and will be going thru I-Week this week.

Kinda sucks that they had so many associates and only 9 are going thru. That is only 29% of them.

How are other chapters fairing with their percentages?

Alpha Omega (Ohio University) previously had 10 associates and 5 went through, but we're also on the quarter system, so things may work a bit differently.

Many times men are recruited with great expectations on both parts of the new associates and the chapter.

But other things come up later on, namely money and grades.

Money is something nothing can really be delt with, but grades can be. If they are still interested they can be held over until the GPA is acheived.

One of my Chapter Brothers comes to mind.

He almost flunked out and when I talked to him a 1 1/2 weeks ago, he was carrying 3 A and 1 B.

Byt the way for those who may be interested, LXA GPA was 2.6, the overall school GPA was 3.4. We were 3 rd out of 6 Fraternities.

Awsome job Delta Beta!! My roomates little brother went NSU, but unfortunately he went Pike because he didn't want to be like his brother. He ended up dropping out of Pike, and said he wish he would have gone Lambda Chi instead.

Who is your roommate, or actually what is his little brother's name I may know him? Thanks for the words of encouragement, recruitment is usually our big thing here at NSU, we usually have a high percentage rate with retention. While, this past year is our biggest associate class since I have been here in the past four years. But, if anyone needs any ideas for any type of events to do with anything let me know.

Wow thats amazing at Northeastern. I can only imagine if we were able to do that, wow thats sweet.

Here is something I'm extremly proud of, at Michigan State, we have the highest GPA of the big fraternities. We have the third highest on campus. Behind a small Alpha Epsilon Pi, and a co-ed buisness frat. Considering we have 24 fraternities on campus, we are doing pretty well.

Gamma Omicron.

His name is John Chavez, he left NSU and went to Rogers State for a while. Now he's back home in Broken Arrow, OK or Tulsa, one of the two.

My chapter at UTEP earned a 2.94 GPA for the fall semester, better than all the Greek GPA’s and higher than the all-male and all-female averages. This has earned the chapter the highest GPA for the second year in a row. I think the closest fraternity has a 2.4 GPA. We're getting ready to put our greek week crown on the line in a few weeks too.

Thats amazing. I don't want to be that guy, but since you are all lambdas you can all enjoy this. Gamma Omicron just won chapter of the year at Michigan State, and we just won Greek Week. We won greek week last year as well.

You said that you don't want to be that guy, that's how I feel, but hey this thread looks like it is turning in to each chapters accomplishments which is good to see how our other brothers are doing. Ever since we got our charter in 91 we have had the highest GPA on campus, and in the past year we have won Greek Week, and Homecoming. Along with chapter of the year before last year. It has been going great here at Northeastern, we have a lot of different leaders on campus from IFC Chief Council of Judicial Board, to Homecoming King, to Mr. NSU, and to Student Governement President which gained us to be named the winner of campus involvement award year after year. Actually, the continuing excellence of our chapter actually interested me into running for Alpha a second term, which I am currently serving now, it's crazy to be president twice but I love to give back to such a great organization. Honky, I knew John Chavez I actually kind of grew up with the kid since about 6th grade, the year he went PIKE was the year I came through as an associate. But, keep the updates coming on each chapter it's interesting to see how everyone is doing.

Do you guys still do that lawnmower thing for Homecoming? Sounded pretty hilarious. I met one of your guys at GA in '02 and he told me that story about your HC tradtion.

Yeah, we still have the Lawnmower Brigade. We have multiple people come up to us every year at the Homecoming Parade saying that the parade would not be the same without out Lawnmower Brigade, everyone in the town loves it.
