After the show first aired, my favorite radio station was tearing Sophia (and her mother) a "new-one" for the over-indulgence and bratty, whiney attitude. It's hard enough as it is to fight off stereotypes when asked where I'm from. The episode was pretty darn funny, though---she couldn't fit into her dress, she freaked out when her grandmother said she was getting a used car and, finally, the classic quote: "DON'T SAY THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND ME BECAUSE TODAY IT DOES!!!"

I have to admit it's a guilty pleasure of mine too, but it also makes me so mad sometimes I can't watch it. Some of those kids are HORRIBLE. You know Veruca Salt? Charlie and the Chocolate factory? They should be given some of that treatment. And their parents shouldn't let them feel like they are ENTITLED to get things totally their way, all the time. When I got that attitude, I lost whatever it was that I was acting bratty about. My car? I got my dad's old one to use at 17 for THEIR convenience (as in mom never got groceries, picked up my brothers, or ran errands anymore...I did all that while she was at work) and when I got mad that they were trying to take it for a month after my first speeding ticket my mom told me it was most certainly NOT my car, it was my dad's car, and that attitude cost me an extra month, missy. And I was expected to pay them back by babysitting or working for my mom, but had to get rides because I couldn't use the car even then. Took me the entire two months...and it wasn't an expensive ticket. Never did that again.I can't imagine being given a new sports car at 16, much less two like some of them get. I can rant forever.
I'm sorry, if your parents spend massive amounts of money and time throwing you a party, when they don't have to, you can shut UP and quit whining. GAH.

"It was pretty decent for a white girl."
Amberly from Virginia.
First of all, I take it her mom couldn't decide between Amber and Kimberly. Secondly, gotta love the fact that she didn't know her dad until recently and her dad's now trying to make up for not being there for her by throwing her a Sweet 16 with a $300,000 price tag. Birthday girl's got a big rack, and one can't help but wonder if they're real or fake.
I just about wanted to strangle her when she fired her personal shopper. Um hi, dipshit -- one does not go to Paris to find something that's American and pink.
Kinda surprised that they didn't know who Tyler Hilton was, considering he did spend more than a season on One Tree Hill.
And I must admit -- dad was kinda hot, even though that last "WOW" he gave his daughter was kinda creepy.
"Social event of the decade?" Honey, they won't even remember your shit six months from now.
Next week -- Eazy E's daughter. Please don't go and make dad turn over in his grave, thanks. RIP EAZY.

The way they were doing the "real boobie jiggle" when she was dancing and walking, my guess is they are real.

This child, beyond sad. No home training, truly ungrateful. *SMH* Classic example of the saying money does not equal class.

I missed last night's fairy tale themed party so I've set my DVR to record tomorrow's repeat.
Someone answer me this. Why do these white girls always feel that they have the need to do a "hip hop dance" at their Sweet Sixteen?
Finally -- Eazy's daughter. She had a "White Party" that was supposed be like Diddy's. I'm in no way schooled in West Coast vs. East Coast rap, but didn't Diddy and Eazy come from warring factions? Or was this after he passed and more of a Tupac vs. Biggie thing?
Anyway -- that must have sucked getting your party shut down like that before midnight. Too bad "her" money couldn't buy her an exemption from the noise curfew.

I haven't seen this episode yet, but from what I've read on Television Without Pity, it's a total trainwreck.
But just FYI, Diddy didn't start the White Party craze. Since 1984, the gay community in Miami has been holding an annual White Party (which has now turned into a week) for AIDS awareness.

Ha ha. Stupid people who dont think when they plan. Black people renting a million dollar home in Bel Air for a party, @ night, in Bel Air, for 200 of their closest friends. Right...Had she limited the party to maybe 100 or less, that may not have happened.
And we dont know it the kids were wandering the property with that many people. Poor planning

She looked like a female version of her father. Her looks definitely didn't come from her mother. Poor child.
I wanted her hairdresser to smack her.

And her stylist. I saw the episode in the remix version. MTV gave her a mini-player to see what her stylist was saying about her after he had left her place. He said she has no style, and doesn't know what style is She was hot! It was funny.

Wanted: Your Recorded (VHS/DVD) MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEEN Episodes
Hello,
I'm looking for copies of MTV's show "My Super Sweet Sixteen" on VHS or DVD that you recorded from an MTV broadcast. I specifically need your RECORDED episodes from MTV's cable broadcast because I am doing research relating to what's in the COMMERCIAL BREAKS between segments of the episodes. I know these episodes are all already available to buy on Amazon and iTunes for about $2 apiece, but there are no commercials in these versions of the episodes!
Please let me know which episode(s) you have on VHS/DVD. First season episodes would be best, but I might be interested in others as well.
Also, please let me know whether I can borrow the tape(s)/DVD(s) to watch and return, or if you would prefer to have me buy your tape(s)/DVD(s) to keep, and if so, what price.
Thanks very much!

The season is still going on. Do you not have a TV? Cable? If not, find someone who does, because MTV shows the reruns 29380429834029344 times a week. I doubt anyone on GC will bite.
Back to the original topic -- I'm totally diggin' this Nikki vs. Priscilla rumble. I'm surprised they didn't think of "dueling parties" long ago.

I can't say that I blame Priscilla for being upset that Nikki had used some of her ideas. Honestly, if you want it to be exclusive, you don't tell someone who is having a "rival" party before yours.
I watched the remix of the girl who got a six-door Hummer. All that money for a car that isn't driven often. Wish I had some of that $$$$...

Her parents bought her a range rover to drive more often. That child will be completely unappreciative and frivolous in her spending.
