My uncles and aunts when there too, before it was a university. They didn't become one until the mid-90s (along with Lander, Winthrop, and some other state schools). My aunt (who lives in Atlanta) also pledged through Alpha Xi.
And if you are ever at State's campus go on Hollinshead St. It's named after my uncle (former SGA president and Omega man).
