Excuse my crash, but I wanted to congratulate Gamma Phi Beta on how well recruitment went at the new system, University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.http://www.uafortsmith.edu/News/Inde...=&storyid=1668

One of the new recruits, Ashleigh Painter, was recently named Miss UAFS.

Again, congratulations.

I was thinking the same thing! Very cute!

Is Gamma Phi making a special effort to expand more in the south? I notice that a lot of our newer chapters seem to be in that region. (TAMU, USC, Texas-Tyler, UAFS)

Just found out that Gamma Phi is presenting at TCU - I think next week! I need to do a little more detective work. Are alums allowed to go to the presentations? I'd like to if I can.

TCU is Texas Christian University, right? Someone in another thread referred to TCU as Trinity Christian U., but I don't think that's correct...?

TCU is in Fort Worth. Gamma Phi, Delta Zeta, and Alpha Phi will be presenting. Alpha Phi had a chapter there that closed back in the 80s, I think. I got an email yesterday about a meeting here for the alums to meet with the International President about the possibilities of us going to TCU. I am excited and I will definitely be there!!

Oops, yes, we do. I hear they've done well!

Fingers are crossed for TCU!

Alumnae Chapter/Crescent Circle Potential Expansions

It just dawned on me that I should include these expansions as well. They aren't as exciting but they are important for us.

We are actively pursuing:

Asheville, NC
Paris, TN
Chattanooga, TN
Ottawa, ON
Pocatello, ID
Ft Smith, AR
NW AR
Miami, FL
Macon, GA
Modesto, CA
Portland, ME
Bowling Green, OH (we are looking for a leader if you know anyone)
Ft Walton Beach, FL

And other areas as well that aren't quite as active.

We are always looking for more areas if you, or anyone you know, is interested in getting involved. It can be very rewarding.

I'm just on pins and needles here. The vote at TCU has been taken, and we could have the official word as early as Friday. You just don't know how badly I want this to happen!! I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

That's awesome...

I just read the article and noticed that there's a new G Phi B member from California at UAFS ("Banning, Calif.: Samantha Johnson, Gamma Phi Beta."), she's from 30 minutes away from my mom's house. :-)

We are presenting TODAY to become the 11th sorority at TCU! Yesterday, Fort Worth area alums met with our International President to discuss what will be involved if we are chosen. We are the last to present (Delta Zeta and Alpha Phi have already done theirs) and I think we have a very good chance. We had about 40 people at the meeting, which I think is a great turn-out.

I saw that in another thread. That is VERY cool for both a potential new collegiate chapter AND an ability to add excitement to an alumnae chapter.
