Kent State Delta Gamma succumbs to Cancer

I just posted in the Delta Gamma forum and then saw this so I thought I'd post here also.

I am the Membership Adviser at Kent State and was very sad to hear of Alicia's passing. Though I had never met her, I saw the way the girls felt the night they found out and I knew that she was someone amazing.

Since then, another member of DG at Kent State has been affected by this disease. She was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma last Wednesday. We are really hoping for the best and trying to support Kelly every step of the way.

Please keep Kelly, Alicia's family, and the Kent State DGs in your thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes out to all of my sisters at Kent State. I will be informing my chapter (I'm at Akron) and hopefully gain some support in helping out Kent's Relay for Life causes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and sisters.

Our Greek community just lost a SigEp brother to cancer this past weekend, and there are some other Greeks on our campus that have cancer as well. It doesn't seem right that people so young should have to go through this, but at least we have many places to turn to in times of grief.

My prayers go out to both families, as well as any Greek who is afflicted with any kind of life-threatening disease.
