Don't serve me. I'm sick of weddings. I cry so much at the ceremony that I'm not moist by the reception.

I'm thinking of proposing to my girlfriend March 31st, at around 11:59pm or so. You see up here in Seattle, if the tide is right, you might get to see a cacoon shell in a pool if you are lucky. It sets the mood.

Anyways.I'll say something like, " Temeka, will you marry?"

and then in about a minute or two when she finally calms down from her shock and jubilation, I'll say, "APRIL FOOLS MUTHAF*CKuh! I make it rain I make it rain I make it rain on theeez hoes!"

Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh-no
I got to keep on moving!

Here's a new one:

Elope, and do the ceremony at your GLO's National Convention!

That's what my husband and I did...

Miss Diva,

What's your budget? That will help us get an idea of what you can do.

I have a friend who got married at a Renaissance Festival. Nearly everyone came in costume of that period.

Another friend rented out a yacht and got married on the Hudson River in the summer at sunset. It was very posh (black tie) with a hired orchestra.

Went to a traditional Scottish wedding (where else.. but Scotland) but you can do it here as well. This one was at an old Medieval church. There was a piper at the door in full Highland's dress playing as we entered the church. If you aren't Scottish... so what?

Not my cup of tea...but believe it or not, Seaworld in San Diego offers wedding receptions. It's in the glass enclosed pavillion overlooking Mission Bay. And yes, you and your groom can have your formal picture taken with Shamu.

Other unusual places to get married: a hot air balloon. That's for a small wedding.. they usually only take up to ten passengers.

You can get married in an old historic building.

Or on a tall ship. I don't know where you live, but Star of India in San Diego offers them as does Wavertree in NYC. Many tall ships offer this service, so look it up on the internet and check it out.

DisneyWorld has a fairytale wedding package that even includes a coach.

If you call up your local chamber of commerce and tourist offices, they can probably give you some more ideas.

I love APO couples. Marrying your brothers is ALWAYS a good idea. heheehe!

Also...check out www.theknot.com It has a section on unique wedding ideas.

How about a Roller Durby wedding? That'd be killer. Just kidding.

MissDiva,

How's the wedding planning going?

One great (and cheap) way to make Save the Dates is going to www.vistaprint.com and make business card magnets or use their flat cards to make Save the Dates.

Also, personalize your wedding as much as possible. My Future Mother-in-Law and I are making white chocolate dolphins for favors to go with my ocean themed wedding.

One cool thing I saw that I really liked was a cake that looked like a stack of books with titles of books that the couple had both read and enjoyed because they're both librarians. I thought it was AWESOME!
