I don't think that you are old fashioned but your mother certainly did raise you properly. People/children don't come out the womb acting the that they do... it has to do with their home training-- your parents are your first teachers. It is not just adults...it's children too that are acting all wild. I am a woman now (21) but when I was in elementary, middle, and high school I knew how to act and speak to people. Perfect example of children acting wild... I substitute at a school in PG county MD and I volunteered to be a chaperone (sp?) at their 6th grade dance. I was happy until I saw the conduct of the young ladies at this dance. These 6 grade girls (11 and 12) are pushed all up on the boys hard (worse then at the club with grown folks), doing these freaky dances, and not caring because half of their parents are there. The worse part was THE PARENTS DID NOT CARE.... :-o
But for adult women, they have no excuse...you need to act like a lady.
