I will have a big, big summer. Daughter #2 has a fantastic group of friends (about 25...seriously!) who will all be going through recruitment, mostly at SEC schools, so I should have some interesting rush stories coming down the pipe. Lots, if not most, of their mothers were not Greek, so I get to be information central for recs, etc.

It will be fun...I can't wait!

You MUST do a rush thread on all 25 of them!!

It is my understanding that MIT will be transitioning back to fall recruitment beginning this year. Spring 2007 formal recruitment kicks off on February 1st, and I understand that there will be a fall formal recruitment during Labor Day weekend.

In my day, rush was held in late August before classes started. After I graduated, NPC formal recruitment was shifted to January/February, and numbers fell. So rush is being shifted back to early fall.

Great job on the list! That must have taken forever to put together. Just a few edits.

ZTA Nationals has an official list published of all our chapters (closed and opened) and Muhlenberg is not on it.

There's a few others on your list where ZTA is mentioned but we have not had a charter at those schools. They are:
University of New Hampshire
Oregon Institute of Technology
Richmond Professional Institute

For the University of Central Florida, Alpha Xi was founded before ChiO. Alpha Xi was founded in the early 90s (or late 80s...can't remember) and ChiO was founded in 1998.

Thanks for the Muhlenberg, UNH, and Oregon Tech info. My info on those was sketchy. For RPI, though, I have that ZTA's Iota chapter was there from 1905-1908. Can you tell me where the Iota chapter was/is? Maybe the school doesn't exist any longer, has a different name, or something?

For UCF, I have XO founded 1988 and AXD 1995, but maybe the XO is really 1998 - I'll double check that.

Thanks for the info!

ETA - yes I confirmed that XO at UCF was founded 1998 - thanks!

ZTA's Iota chapter was Richmond College.

I do know for sure that ChiO was founded in '98 because I rushed at UCF a year after they colonized. I remember our Rho Gammas mentioning that ChiO had colonized the year before.

Great. Richmond College is the former name of the University of Richmond, but it is also a college of the CUNY system in NY. I would bet that the Iota chapter was at the Virginia school, but if you know otherwise, let me know.

Awesome thread

Irish Pipes,

This is so great! As someone who is already interested in this coming fall's recruitment I am happy to see this here. My sister is going through this fall! The location will be a secret and a hint is it is not my alma mater.

Excited for August/September/October 2007!!

The Theta Phi Alpha chapter at Wisconsin-Platteville has been dormant at least since 2001.

Thanks, ep. I actually have the dates unless there is an * after the sorority name. I just haven't input all the dates yet. There are so many that I have to do it in phases, and I am going in a random order that keeps it interesting to me.

irishpipes did that to show a sorority that used to have a chapter on campus. If it is in gray, it means the chapter is closed.

My bad. That makes sense. I understand now. I just missed it before.

ip -

ASA also had a chapter at Ball State. (The Chi Chi chapter!!)

Also, to the best of my knowledge we were never at IU South Bend - just the main IU.

I'll email you sometime this week as I think I have founding dates for most of these.

Oh and U of Southern Indiana & Southern Indiana U are the same thing, at least I thought they were...
