the movie was funny... couldn't stop laughing... especially when he pulled out Chris Brown's gloves at the end of the step/stomp off like he was He-Man twirling his sword, I thought he was about to scream "I have the pooooweerrr!!!"...

I went to see "Children of Men" on Friday and the theater was flooded with the Blue and White family. My word. I have never seen so many members of the Zeta Phi Beta Sigma family.

Are you guys especially deep on the west coast? Having lived in the south and in the midwest, I have never experienced great numbers of the Blue and White family.

Sawrahs were obviously boycotting that mess b/c I only saw one Soror. Didn't see any Alphas. Saw a few Deltas.

Children of Men was good but left alot of rocks unturned. Part deux? Probably.

i've heard mixed reports. my coworker took her 13-year old twins. the kids loved it and she said the stepping makes HER want to go to college, not now but right now (LOL). My best friend (a professor at an hbcu) didn't like it, but she over-analyzes and criticizes everything anyway.

I guess it's a solidly "o.k." movie, so i'll be seeing it soon.

I haven't seen it of yet but heard some reviews which makes one wonder if stepping is all that fraternity life is about and will we be attracting possible members as just a result of that. What also concerned me that on the opening day of the movie it grossed something like 38 million but Sony only gave 650,000! to the Martin Luther King Memorial come on they surely could have gave at least a million!

I try not to judge the charitable actions of others, even Oprah.

<--- Does not know what it takes to make a movie, so I don't assume whether a million is a drop in the bucket or not.

They could have been more charitable -they grossed very well over a million off of those who went to see it.

I'm sure the National MLK Memorial Foundation is grateful for whatever donations they can receive.

...if that's their reason for their interest in A Phi A, they will find those burning sands much too hot. trust.

De-mystified...

TonyB,

Bruh, my original issue with this movie was that it may have stood only to de-mystify the power of steppin' and, that it may only attract some whack dudes because that's what they'll be thinking that we stand for, BUT!, I say, let the dudes who'll think, that's what fraternities only exist for, come with those thoughts, and they'll see that the fire associated with being made, can't be summed up in a dance-off styled movie, mang. Like Mystikal said, "this here is real life, this ain't no f#*kin' cartoon". I need to watch my mouf.

Okay, I know I'm late. I finally saw the movie. I feel it was great overall. I'm mad at how the orgs were seeking out dude to help win a step show. I mean come one. How lame is that? The prophytes versus neophytes step challenge was nice. I prefer old school stepping/strolling versus new school. Some of these things I see sororities and fraternities doing now is off the chain. Are you stepping/strolling or dancing? There is a difference. My favorite strolls of all time to see is the AKA national stroll and Set It Off.
