Perhaps they don't have the SAP (secondary audio programming) equipment. Be aware that many shows in Spanish are either made in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and a few others, and they all have their dialects and slang - some Spanish-speakers have a hard time following certain dialects.

On a side note...other shows on the Spanish stations look totally wierd, i.e., stupid, lol. Kinda like a Hispanic gong show.
That's gotta be Sábado Gigante - it's been running in Latin America for over 50 years. Four hours or so of silly games, interviews, entertainment and less than subtle plugola every Saturday night. The host (Don Francisco - real name is Mario Kreutzberger) is Chilean and the show is aired in Miami.

There is this preacher who dresses like Liberace and for a long time I couldn't figure out if male or female..know who I mean??
Walter Mercado. He's a very famous (and very bisexual) astrologer that hails from Puerto Rico, popular for his annual horoscope and predictions for the coming year. His magazine annual usually flies off the shelves in Miami's Hispanic communities. He dresses way over the top like some exotic magician, but I think it's part of his shtick.

I've tried to convince my husband that he's gay (or at least bats both sides)...HE WEARS MAKEUP - NOT STAGE MAKEUP, EYESHADOW & LIPSTICK for Christ's sake. My husband said he can't be gay because he's married. Right.

Latino gay culture can be strange indeed... I remember reading something about it in the Dallas Observer tabloid (aka 'porno paper') some time ago. Some can have a wife and kids and what otherwise looks like a normal family, yet they will have a gay relationship on 'the down low'.

l've heard about that kind of thing.
Although, I don't worry about it, because my husband gets squicked out when two guys kiss on MTV shows, and just about lost it and left the room during Brokeback Mountain.

Okay, it's been a hot minute since this thread was last bumped...so I'm bumping it again because of the Season Finale.

Kinda surprised that they didn't bring up that thing about somebody getting revenge on Betty's dad in Mexico from last week.

I had a feeling there was something about that Charlie girl's pregnancy that wasn't right.

about Santos. He was hot.

about Amanda.

about Alexis taking care of her baby brother. Too bad Alexis' plan backfired. I'm not too worried about them, though. They'll probably be walking again by Season 2, Episode 2.

Speaking of hot...Kristin Chenowith was smokin' tonight! She should definitely do TV more often!

The West Side Story theme did give me chills. Can't wait till next season!

I was really surprised that they killed off Santos. He had really become a likeabe character.

Is his death a foregone conclusion?

People can survive gunshot wounds.

i thought the episode was a little melodramatic, well more melodramatic than usual. it seemed like people were hamming it up or being more "extra" for whatever reason... but
