Interesting. Most people who have locs are so pro-locs/natural styles that they would not dare "change" their hair (style) for a job.

Question: If you were offered the position (with the wig), at some point, would you discontinue use of the wig and let your locs hang? Is it, I have the job now, what can you do about it attitude?

Dang, I forgot about posting that--I was unemployed at the time - LOL.

To answer your question, yes, as long as it wasn't written in the personnel policies.

But I now have a desired job for which I interviewed locs and all.

I think most models and entertainers wear wigs and weaves and it is not just unique to African Americans. There are just as many White entertainers and models who wear them as well. Unfortunately there is a standard in this country which believes that straight hair is somehow more acceptable than natural or curly hair be it worn on a Black person or White person. I have freed myself from chemicals which break the hair off and refuse to pay over 50 dollars to a stylist who is only interested in doing heads to make money. Therefore I afford myself the versatility of wearing my hair natural or straightened. I do it myself-- for I know my hair better than some stylist who isn't a personal friend of mine; only schedules appointments when its convenient for them, and who only wants to make a quick buck off of me.

So true. This weekend I was watching QVC and they were selling the Jessica Simpson line of extentions. They were going like hotcakes at a $100 a pop.

I think many will be suprised by many causcasian females who wear wigs who are not in the entertaimment business. Be it for appearance, medical or personal reasons.
