I really hope so, but unfortunately PNMs are not always contacted. We never told PNMs if they didn't receive a bid, they usually just figured it out when they saw all the new sorority members wearing their spring bid day shirts or heard that XYZ gave out bids one day. I'm not saying that this is the best way to do things, but there was a very practical reason for this. Sometimes sororities will do a "rolling" bid system especially if they're close to total. In this system, for example, a sorority might have LOVED say, 8 girls during their pref parties but they were only allowed to bid 3. Let's say one of the three girls declines her bid (or depledges right away) for whatever reason. A sorority may decide to extend a bid to another girl in the following hours/days/weeks. If a sorority called up everyone to say "Sorry, you didn't receive a bid" then it might hurt the chances of another girl accepting her bid later on as she feels that she's been "rejected."
While formal recruitment has a very real sense of "rejection" (unfortunately) the best way to think about informal recruitment is that some girls simply cannot be chosen due to space -- not rejected. I'm sure this doesn't make a lot of difference for a disappointed PNM, but it's the truth. I know that there are plenty of women out there who I'm sure would have been amazing members of my sorority but because we were at or nearly at total. When we could only accept 4 girls, there were always 12 we wanted to bid.
So that's the long, complicated answer to your question, and I hope for good news either today or tomorrow!

YAY! I'm glad to hear you're having a good time with this. I really hope that one group comes through, but if not, it sounds like you've met some great girls who want to follow up with you later (and they do--you'd be surprised how many of my rushers I've run into after rush week).
I'm crossing my fingers for you, girl...
