NO LINKING TO PETFINDER PLEASE. Now I will be forced to click on the link and look for dogs because I really want to get another dog and name him Earl Boykins BUT WAIT I DON'T NEED MORE ANIMALS.

I don't have one, but one of the other regulars at the dog park where I take Barney has one. She seems to be a nice dog and plays well with the others. That said, I second the recommendation to contact the breed rescue groups. Everyone I've met who's been involved in breed rescue has been very knowledgeable about the specific breed of dog and willing to talk to people interested in the breed.

I have been looking of Petfinders-- I found a couple there that I am looking at. I also found one that is in the Death Row Dog program in a KY prison-- I am persuing all options-- just wanted info on the breed.
I love bulldogs-- but miss my girl too much to get another. I have had a lab- hate them for my own pet. I have a mini dauschund right now too. Bloodhounds seem sweet and was hoping someone would have some first hand info on them!
thanks!
Here is a picture of my bloodhound, Buddy. This was taken when he was about 4 months old and graduating from puppy training. He is now 10 months and weighs around 95 pounds. He is definitely an outdoor dog. He slobbers a lot and when he shakes his head it goes everywhere. When he was smaller he bit me often, but he doesn't now. He'll put his mouth on my hand, but won't bite down.
He is very strong and hard to walk. I have to use a head collar called a Gentle Leader. It helps me control him. I would never let a child walk him.
Awww! Love his heart, he looks so cute! We were lucky that Anna would wear her hat when she graduated Level I obedience.
We also tried the gentle leader but Anna spent more time clawing at herself to get it off then anything. Luckily we found something else that worked through our obedience instructors. I do see lots of people at the dog park using the gentle leader on their really large dogs, they all seem to like them.
