Hooray for Ohio recruitments!!! Historically, ours has started today too with opening ceremony...but our new GL Adviser decided to press it back a week and start next week. We've had to scramble a bit, but it was decided b/c it allowed more time for girls to sign up.
Miami is a great school and has super strong Greek traditions (how many were founded there?!). I hope she finds a fabulous sisterhood to join. I see Miami has an ADPi chapter...hoping for a legacy?

She is a legacy to two chapters on campus. I haven't talked to her yet - I think parties go on until like 8:30 or so. I'll post when I get an update.

Okay, here's the scoop. She went to 7 chapters today.
Red - she really enjoyed them
Orange - didn't feel like it was the right one for her
Yellow - she also liked this one
Gray - she thought the president and recruitment team were really articulate, but she didn't connect with the girls she talked with
Purple - she really liked this chapter - it's one of her legacy chapters
Gold - she liked them today, but had a bad impression of a few members from pre-recruitment stuff
Silver - she really didn't connect with the girls here
So far, she's ranking them:
Purple
Red
Yellow
Gold
Gray
Silver
Orange
She has 11 parties tomorrow - one of them is a new Jewish local that I don't know anything about.

I scared to say anything - except that I'm sure your sister is getting wise advice, and hope that she gets a bid from the chapter she wants!

Is Miami a public school or private? If public, it's interesting to me that they do deferred recruitment as I've only seen it at private schools.
ADqtPiMel, maybe you can provide some insight to me?

It is a state school. They used to do fall recruitment - not sure when it changed over.

It's more common in the Northeast to defer recruitment for public schools. Examples of public schools with deferred recruitment include Maryland, Delaware, UVA, VA Tech, a bunch of smaller state schools in PA, some SUNY schools.

Sigma was a local group founded to bring AEPhi back to campus. They closed in 2003? (not sure about that one)
I am not sure when AEphi will be coming back either in the Spring or the Fall.
I didn't know Sigma was participating in Open House.

Anyway, not much chance that my sister will end up there, as we're Catholic.
