A Sports "What IF" question:

At dinner tonight we started talking about the movie "We are Marshell".
As part of the conversation, we started to wonder what would happen if a Major Pro team was lost in the same way?

While I once read about MLB plan, I do not remember it.

Does any know?

I don't know the answer to this, but since that movie came out, I've wondered this myself. It probably wouldn't be practical to split the teams flying (50/50 on 2 aircrafts...kinda like how the President and the VP are not permitted to fly on the same airplane). I would think that the planes just carry everybody onboard and they take that chance that they plane will make it from A to B safely. Maybe if you're an athlete making a Michael Jordan'esque salary, then you can charter your own plane.
