Tom, how did the ketchup get on the ceiling? But this thread is about the creed, not John Tesh.

John G, we didn't learn it in school either, although it was probably read at formal meetings. At one recent Founders Day banquet all the undergrads stood up and recited it, while the older alumni just stood there dumbfounded. We didn't know it - never even had a copy of it.

Again, it didn't appear in the Paedagogus until 1995.

ZAX,
Jono

PS - Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish brethren!

Hey Tom,

I can answer your question about John Tesh.

I believe he graduated from North Carolina State University - Gamma Upsilon Zeta.

They no longer have a charter (since 1992)

However, word from some sources claim that they are coming back next fall.

So that is all the info I have on Brother Tesh, and his Zeta

Jono, that is an interesting question! Maybe it goes along with the question I posed about the merger.

So, where does that put us about the the question?

Does anyone know?

Yes NCSU! Trey!

My reference was to a certain book from NCSU that you had been circulating.

Wow, I can't believe some chapters rarely use the Creed. We were supposed
to have it memorized within 3 days after taking our bid! (bid day Friday,
first chapter meeting on Monday). We said it at every chapter meeting,
as is set out in the official "Business Meeting" script. Same at Vandy and
Gtown.

Of course I still know it, after having repeated it hundreds of times!

I took it for granted that because we, (Phi Theta), said the Creed at the opening of every Chapter Meeting, that every other chapter did the same. So I was a little surprised to read this. It was the first thing that I learned after I received my AM pin.
I never realized it carried such a mystery, as to its origins. I never learned the story behind, and for that matter never questioned it. I just assumed that Jack Mason wrote it. But, nowhere is it written where it came from, or who wrote it. Now I am curious.
