I didn't read the whole thing, sounds reasonable.
I disagree- Not giving a damn=/= ignorance. You can say it does, but that would just be your personal definition, not the true one.

What is "true" is always socially constructed and it isn't just a personal definition when I'm not the only one who agrees with it. Instead of being stuck on words and semantics (since you always want to discuss "racist" and "ignorant," etc.) you should focus on the logic and concepts behind the words.
Phasad1913: Davis is the only attractive one in the house. Tyrie was wrong for coming at him like that, especially if D is drunk. It was just a really dumb altercation all the way around.

I understand the logic behind the words. Ignorance overall, in a broad reaching and commonly understood definition, refers to someone who is uninformed, assuming, etc. It is often used as a degrading term, implying a lack of culture or education. Defining as insensitivity is a stretch, in my opinion.
There is a great South Park about people using the term in situations where it doesn't apply. The Michael Jackson one, its great.

Cool.
Does whether or not ignorance includes insensitivity make or break anything, though? That's my point.

It does make or break this situation. I'm just talking about the situation on the show. I think you can be cruel, insensitive and just plain wrong, without being ignorant. I just get annoyed at the whole, "oh well he's from the south, he's ignorant, thats why he used that word" thing. If the kid had really picked up such things living in the south, I imagine he wouldnt be gay.

Brooke clearly has an IQ of a houseplant and gets my vote as house drama-queen. She's wandering all around town trying to find the nail salon. Hello. Ever heard of a cell phone? How about trying to call the place and ask them for directions from where you are!
Then when she returns without ever finding the salon, she is so wrapped up in herself-- just about ignoring Colie who is sick with mono and just returned from the hospital! Brooke is absorbed in her own little pity-party. She then takes something Tyrie says totally out of context and goes crying hysterically to her mommie. How old are we?
From the way she was sobbing and carrying on, you'd think she had been robbed or raped.
I also was just flabbergasted at how she's complaining that she's paying $700 a month to keep up her apartment while she's on the Real World. Her mother reminds her that she is kicking in part of the bill-- and Brooke is only paying about $400. Brooke says, "What-ever! Can you throw me a bone here?"
I think mommy and daddy are enabling their little precious daughter and need to cut the strings and let her grow up.
Now on to Alex... I wonder how long it's going to take for him to come down with Mono after swapping spit with Colie! Karma.

I suspect that the cast members are not allowed to use their private cell phones during the Real World filming (3 months?). Therefore they have to use the bugged phone over the 'phone room' to call mom, boyfriend, girl crush whatever.

Okay, wow. I just caught a few episodes of this today and OMGWTFBBQ @ Brooke getting all FREAKED OUT about walking through the "ghetto" -- FIRST OF ALL and without condoning her use of the word "ghetto" -- there is no "ghetto" in Denver, and if there were, it wasn't where she was walking. She wasn't even close to what a normal human who has left her house more than once would consider a dangerous/creepy neighborhood. SECOND OF ALL and not to say it's good or right but freaking DUH if you walk around wearing shorts that barely cover your ass GUYS ARE GOING TO YELL AND COMMENT. Not to say it's good or right, but if you don't want to have that experience, put on some freaking clothes before you go out walking by yourself. Holy crap.
LOL I hate to admit that I watched this, but oh well. It's interesting to see how SCARY and terrible Denver is!
