Basically, a couple of the girls in my sorority are going to be 'stalking' our facebook profiles (couldn't imagine it be too long until our myspace profiles are under fire too) for anything they deem inappropriate. We have to comply with what they would like us to do or else face further punishment, etc. I'm just going to leave out my personal objections to this, but has anyone else encountered this too?
I've heard all about people not getting jobs, etc., because of their facebook profiles and so on can be used to 'research' you, and you do not want a potential employer to find something bad, so I try to keep mine rated G and I understand from that aspect.

Our VP Recruitment checked facebook profiles, and while I don't think anyone continues during the year, we kind of self-govern. If another sister has something embarassing on her profile, usually someone will bring it to her attention. I think it's totally fair; when you join a sorority you're joining another family and you have to abide by their rules or leave. You know that you'll have to give up some of your privacy from the get go for the greater good, and posting pictures that could harm your chapter, like of you drinking underage, doing or being around drugs, acting like a slut, or doing something else that isn't appropriate should be subject to your organization's code of standards. We ask that you either post according to our code of standards or remove "Alpha Gamma Delta" from the profile.
