His apology wasn't for black folks, point blank. We were not part of his fan base to begin with, and really there's no way to apologize for something that appears to just be your mindset.

His apology, IMO, was so that all his white and jewish fans can feel better about liking him again. SInce folks were actively laughing in the audience while he was saying it, I think it'll probably work out just fine for him.

His Jewish fans need to think carefully before accepting him back. In my experience, the people who hold these feelings toward blacks tend to hold worse feelings toward Jews; where there is disregard for the pain and suffering of black folk, there is pure hatred for the very existence of Jews.

Most of the posts by yt folks I've seen on the issue are all about reverse racism, and how come it's not ok for him to say "the n-word" but it was ok for the black folks in the audience to call him cracker. I think he will be just fine.

Then he goes on to pretend like he now is concerned about race relations after Hurricane Katrina...c'mon...don't make it seem like you were making some sort of political statement...

As I stated, I am surprised he is still walking...

If all he said was the n-word, I might be tempted to give them a point. However, this fool had the nerve to say, and I quote:

"Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with af***in' fork up your a**!"

This is a very clear reference to lynching he would have participated in.

Yeah, I could understand those who say that if you are against the use of the "n-word", then you should be against the use of any and all other racial slurs.

That outburst was just too raw and out of context (telling hecklers how you would lynch them?) to be anything but what he really felt IMO.
I agree with commentators who said it seemed as if he was going in and out of the Kramer character during his "apology".

What does that have to do with the excerpt of your post that I quoted?

Jerry Seinfied is Jewish. When Michael Richards was on the David Letterman show last night, he seemed very sorry about his comments.
