No it wasn't - my dad still tells stories of things people said to him when he got back from his tour in Vietnam in the early 70's. Just really awful stuff that people said, from the moment he got back and for some time after.

that is just plain wrong, no matter what you think of the war, its not the soliders fault, the soldiers never start the war.

To quote from Scarborough Fair...

"Generals order their soldiers to kill,
And to fight for a cause,
They have long ago forgotten..."

There have been some just wars...but no good ones.

I don't know who said this quote but wars are for young men to fight for old men's glory...

My Uncle who was a marine was drafted to 'Nam. Did 2 tours. I forgot where he was allegedly stationed. I know his battlegroup won all their battles over some kind of bridge. But he doesn't like to discuss it much--even now.

Friends of his who were buddies went into law enforcement like he did. They are taking "psycho pension" now...

That's what worries me the most about our current troops... They are doing their duty and serving this country. It won't be just men, but women too that have PTSD...

All I got to say, is the personnel deserves everything...
