Xi-Lambda was initially known as Upsilon Gamma Alpha (UGA), being that the Xi-Lambda chapter is at the University of Georgia, but that only lasted slightly under a year before we became a chapter of TKE.

Sorry to hijack - question

I dated a Teke for more than 4 years, and had many TKE friends at a few schools in CT. I know that the U of Hartford closed their chapter a few years ago due to some issues with "the House" (NOT oncampus; UHA doesn't allowe houses) a mile or two down the street. I was actually there when the first few brothers began living in the grey house. (If you have been there, you know what house I am talking about.

I was wondering at the CCSU colony, which UHA I *beleive* helped charter, as well as Quinnipiac. It seems that a lot of schools in CT had TKE chapters but only a few remain.

Epsilon Omicron

Here and Epsilon Omicron, University of Houston, we started out back as a local fraternity called Rho Beta. It stood for Party Boys. We then got our charter back in 1956 and some of the old Rho Beta rituals and symbols stuck around for a little from what im told, but as of now I have seen nothing. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of being Pylortes at the latest Initiation Fall 06, in which Bob Lightfoot, a founding member of Rho Beta was intiated as an honorary member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and he even managed to get a low scroll that was for some reason left empty.

RIT

Xi-Upsilon here at RIT used to be the Alpha chapter of Zeta Tau, a local fraternity. We became TKE in 1973.

The Kappa Delta Chapter at Old Dominion University used to be the local fraternity Pi Phi Sigma founded in 1955, It was comprised if generally older individuals than the general student population. Most were either married or Korean War veterans who took great pride in their academic accomplishments. As time went on the membership began to change becoming more representative of the general college population

In 1964 Pi Phi Sigma Fraternity petitioned to join Tau Kappa Epsilon. The charger members of the Kappa Delta Chapter were the last group of initiated members into Pi Phi Sigma. Kappa Delta Chapter was founded on March 6, 1965.
