When I worked with a day camp/after care, hooded sweatshirts were banned because of the strings and the potential for strangulation. The strings can get caught on play equipment like slides and swings, and if the hoods are up peripheral vision was also an issue. They also didn't allow winter hats that tied under the chin for the same reason.

I love hoodies! I bought a school hoodie the other day so that I could dress down on Fridays in the fall. (At my school, teachers can wear jeans on Fridays as long as they wear a school shirt.)

A lot of my kids wear hoodies, too, especially now that it is so cold down here (60-70 degrees is freezing for these Florida kids!). I think that my school might be on the verge of banning them, because the new thing is for kids to sneak their ipods in under the hoods in class!

Very great for holding places up, shooting or beating people with their weapons!

Yea for hoodies.

Just finally caught 3 people who did this.

People come in to my store are told once and tazered the seconded time!

The choice is yours.

CRAP! They caught on!

Now how will I rob the liquor store tonight?

/is it okay to commit armed robbery in your letter hoodie? Or do you think that's against national policy?

I'd say play it safe and just turn it inside out. Oh and make sure that no blood gets on your letters.

This is the best Earp post in weeks.

If you wear a hoodie you're automatically a criminal. So think about it, the choice is yours. You can still walk away!

We can wear jeans anytime at my school, but I only wear them about once a week, but I have 3 different school hoodies I wear with them. I also have a "Keep Louisville Weird" hoodie in all black I live in during cold weekends.

My school is also on the verge of banning hoodies for the ipod problems. We also have a problem with kids pulling them over their heads in class and playing with them. It's more the issue of them using them as a distraction then anything.

OT: To defend the Florida kids (because I am one) ... when it's 82 degrees outside one day, then 65 the next, it's hoodie weather.

My mom would always take the strings out of mine when I was a kid. Okay, even when I was like 16. Hahaha. Now it's a habit and I do it too.

I normally rock a zip-up hoodie, but i FINALLY just purchased my first ever school-pride hoodie. When i was in school the selection was terrible (2 colors, 2 sizes, poor quality). Now that we're on the come-up the apparel is soooo much better. I've worn it soo many times in the past 2 weeks its crazy.

I agree, when I was a freshman I was so upset about the clothing selection (or lack thereof) at Mason, but ever since we made it to the Final Four for basketball, our Bookstore is STOCKED with really nice stuff...the first thing I bought was two really nice embroidered hoodies.
