Hoodies are great! I dress my two kids in them as well (1 & 4yrs), however the 4yr old starts kindergarten next year, and hoodies are on the list of "banned" clothes (along with tank tops, droopy pants, midriff-baring shirts, etc). I have no idea why the hoodies are banned. Any ideas?

"Gang" wear. It's not really targeted at the Kindergarteners, but the rules are just made for the entire school. I think it's silly that they can't just say, hoods off indoors, but whatever.

The pockets are large enough to sneak in weapons, food/drinks, drugs, or gameboys...things that are not allowed in schools. I can understand why hoodies are banned in some places.

I'm not a big fan because what is the point? No one really uses the hood.

But it's funny I just read an article recently that says the hoodies have become popular among street thieves/thugs/whatever in the UK so they refer to these people as hoodies.

Hoodies are just more snuggly and cozy than crewnecks. Plus I use my pouch and my hood on occasion.

I love hoodies and people out here in southern california make fun of me for calling it a hoodie! Apparently calling it a sweatshirt would suffice but they dont seem to understand its so much more than a sweatshirt! I remember in college the year that all the greeks started shifting from the crewneck lettered sweatshirts to the hoodie letters. Talk about an end of an era!

I have like 10 sorority hoodies. They're amazing for those colder Greek events like Homecoming football games with freezing rain.

I've never owned a hoodie. For cold weather, I've always opted for a hat and scarf, or a pashmina shawl wrapped over my head and around my neck (the way I wrap it, it looks a bit like what a Muslim woman might wear to cover her hair, but it's for warmth, not modesty - and it is toasty warm). Plus, casual day doesn't exist at my office...

When I worked with a day camp/after care, hooded sweatshirts were banned because of the strings and the potential for strangulation. The strings can get caught on play equipment like slides and swings, and if the hoods are up peripheral vision was also an issue. They also didn't allow winter hats that tied under the chin for the same reason.

I love hoodies! I bought a school hoodie the other day so that I could dress down on Fridays in the fall. (At my school, teachers can wear jeans on Fridays as long as they wear a school shirt.)

A lot of my kids wear hoodies, too, especially now that it is so cold down here (60-70 degrees is freezing for these Florida kids!). I think that my school might be on the verge of banning them, because the new thing is for kids to sneak their ipods in under the hoods in class!

The choice is yours.

CRAP! They caught on!

Now how will I rob the liquor store tonight?

/is it okay to commit armed robbery in your letter hoodie? Or do you think that's against national policy?

I'd say play it safe and just turn it inside out. Oh and make sure that no blood gets on your letters.

This is the best Earp post in weeks.

If you wear a hoodie you're automatically a criminal. So think about it, the choice is yours. You can still walk away!
