How lucky was Mary and Dave to be last again in the leg where someone was not eliminated. I know we talked about this last season with the Hippie's, but sometimes I think TAR picks which leg to eliminate/not elimate people according to who comes last. Probably not true, but like I said before Dave and Mary are lucky!
|
I think you're right. I had suspected that when the hippies kept not being eliminated. I truly think the producers are manipulating the show. There ought to be some sort of guarantee-- such as the producers must submit in advance which rounds will be eliminated to an impartial third party for verification.

While I agree completely that uttering the word "baby" should be grounds for immediate Philimination, I would rather see Lynn and Karlynn gone before Rob and Kimberly. Watching Alabama berate the beauty queens, the models and most of all the ticket agent about the flight was beyond embarrassing. True, the beauty queens were stupid to make an issue of it to begin with, since IT WAS THE ONLY FLIGHT AND THEY WERE ALL GOING TO GET ON IT. But Lynn and Karlynn are much more obnoxious to me than Rob and Kimberly. If you watch some of the Insider clips at CBS, you can see that they have consistently rebuffed all attempts at being friendly from any team except the Chos and Kentucky. Tyler and James sat down with them at breakfast one morning (before the flight incident, it appeared), and without a word, Alabama got up and moved to another table. Yet they hoped the ticket agent could sleep with himself.
And as stupid as it was for the beauty queens to make an issue out of the flight, it was no more stupid or obnoxious than Lynn and Karlynn pushing the poor Kuwaiti man so that he couldn't translate the clue for the beauty queens last week.

Sometimes I think these teams think they're on Survivor, where an alliance might get you somewhere.
I'm not sure that Tyler and James aren't right -- that the Cho brothers are trying to get Kentucky and Alabama to the final 3 with them because they know they could beat both teams. In any event, the Cho brothers' sentiment that they're stronger together than they are apart ignores the other cliche -- the chain is only as strong as their weakest link.

You make an excellent point.. and, after reading your post.. I've changed my mind. I agree with you.. the beauty queens must go.

Then you're not agreeing with me.
While I'd like to see the Cho brothers win, the team I think is most likely to win at this point is the beauty queens, and I don't have a problem with that at all. They are consistently the best racers, and they don't get on my nerves nearly as much as Lynn and Karlynn or Kimberly and Rob.
I'd be very happy with a final three of the beauty queens, the Cho brothers and the models, and I'd be satisfied if any of them won.

Don't get me wrong... I'm glad Kentucky is gone, but I thought Mary had a very positive outlook on how running the race allowed her to get out to see the world and live. I liked how she vowed to make sure her children would get opportunities to go places and not be stuck in Kentucky in one place like she had been all her life.

I completely agree.
And I did laugh when the beauty queens were at the Intersection and were wondering if they were the last team. (Ummm, no, honey. since you have to team up with another team, and since there are an even number of teams, there's one out there for you somewhere.) Ah, stereotypes restored.
I'm glad the Chos were forced to break free of the Back Pack. (The Four Pack?)

Alabama needs to go. The Chos won't be able to advance because Alabama's just not a strong team.
What are your predictions for the final three? I'm thinking the Chos, BQs, and Rob & Kim. I'm thinking the models will goof up somehow and it's gonna cost them the final three. We shall see!
For some reason this season seems like it's going by faster than all the others.

Please let Alabama leave my TV screen. I almost like them at the end last night, though. Almost

The models (Team Zoolander, Reality News Online calls them) definitely have navigational issues, but I still think the most likely final 3 is the beauty queens, the models and Rob and Kimberly. The Chos (Team ErGo, per RNO) should be in the final 3, and I'd rather see them there than Rob and Kimberly, but they show really bad judgment too often, so I fear they won't be in the final three. On the other hand, maybe Rob and Kimberly's interpersonal dynamics will help the Chos out.

Each season seems like that to me.

Grrr ... the 'Bama moms need to go! I can't believe on how they were behaving in Finland, by cutting the taxi queue. If I had to be the gentleman waiting in line, I wouldn't let them go so easy.
That's how 'ugly Americans' behave outside our little continent of North America.
And the next week scene shows on how they 'left the Chos behind', and breaking up the alliance. Thank god, this alliance thingy starts to get really annoying.
I'd love to see the Barbies to be in the final three. As much as lots of people get annoyed by them, they really brighten up the show (how about when they were asking whether they need to put the bicycle helmet on top of the mining helmet, hahaha)

It would have been fun to see Kentucky work the mine challenge. Oh well.
Can't wait to see 'Bama repel down that tower next week. Apparently they make it down because the previews show one of them driving the tank.. but I'll bet it wasn't without a lot of drama.
And, Rob... take a chill pill.

At least the Barbies asked and got permission before they jumped ahead of everyone in the queue. Bama just shoved themselves in front of everyone, and then complained about the Barbies. Sheesh. I so wanted last night to be an elimination round so that Bama could get off my TV screen, but when it was 10 minutes to go and no mention (in any clue) of a pit stop, I had to face the reality that this was a "Keep Racing" episode and I would have to suffer through Bama at least one more week.

Exactly! This is the main reason that I have been disappointed in the Cho brothers. They put way to much stock in the back-of-the-pack alliance and it has hurt them. Very, very bad racing.
