There was a piece on CBS Sunday Morning about the movie this morning. I was amazed to know that the original budget for this movie (although they went over it some) was only $5.5 Million, and that all of the actors worked for Hollywood (SAG?) minimums.

On the day he died, I recall running into to the now Mrs. DA on campus and her telling me it had happened (I hadn't heard).

What a hard time to be young and idealistic with the JFK, Martin Luther King, RFK murders and then Kent State a few months later.

I had a chance to stand at his grave and JFK's on Saturday. I remember Bobby's death, but was too young too remember JFK's. (John Jr. and I are the same age, or would be.)

I've been to the graves before but as always it was very moving. It's so hard to try to convey to my kids the significance of the site.

But hey -- after we left the Kennedy graves, we arrived at the cemetery gate just in time to see the President ride by. Talk about stories they can tell at school.
