LMAO........but seriously dont compare the two because you can't. If you knew the history of gangs and how they orginated then you would not have made a comment like that and it would not have got second. The Crips for example did not start off being an organized crime group it was more of brotherhood, and builing men out of boys in a time where there were no father figures to be found. Look up gangs, you will not find the ones with hand signs bielve that. I don't want to get on a soap box so I will let you educate yourself on that issue.

If you don't want to read the whole thread, then why comment? Generally, the subject of a thread changes rapidly, and when you don't read the whole thing, your comment comes out of left field.

If you read the whole thread then you'd know where his comment came from.

It came from post #2 from ColumbiaPike, but since we are now on post #27, and a completely different subject, it's irrelevant to the current topic. Plus, most people ignored the comment from post #2 anyway.

Hand signs are most definitely considered a symbol of gang membership. It's a "gansta" thing, ask any policeman if you don't believe it. God only knows why middle-class college kids would emulate such behavior. Just don't give those signs in neighborhoods like South Central L.A. or East New York in Brooklyn.

Hand signs do not begin or end with gangs, and I know plenty of Greek police officers who wouldn't tell you it's a "gangsta" thing. Are you real? Are you ever Greek?

Right. Just like bandanas and dark sunglasses didn't start with certain gangs. It's just on a "gang checklist."

Phi Mu

I have never seen any Phi Mu's using any time of handsign, but then again making a quatrefoil (our symbol) or a lion (our mascot) would probably be pretty difficult to do. If anyone out there is clever enough to figure out something, I'd love to see it. I always thought the ADPi's diamond that the girls make with their hands was the cutest thing on earth and am jealous we don't have something similar!

There was an old "post a picture of your handsign" thread where a Phi Mu claimed that she had been shown how to make a quatrefoil once. I don't know if this is really physically possible, but I would also love to see it!
