I'm being lazy this year, as I'm not going to any parties or doing anything fun... BF and I are just going to the bar, where people do dress up, but I would never put a lot of effort into it. I think I'm just going to make a shirt that says "GO CEILINGS!!!" and be a ceiling fan. Wheee.

I didn't have time to make the costume so I was going to be something else. My friend was going to dress as Slash and I was going to be Axl, but we couldn't find a top hat anywhere. So she's going as a girl scout, and I'm a viking. I have no idea what the boys are wearing but they are wearing costumes, or ELSE!
I think my roommate is going to paint her hand and have Barbie clothes on a string ala Cartman and Hennifer Lopez with taco flavored keeeeses.
ETA: My roommate strolled into Joann fabrics and bought two yards of stretch terry fabric, I made two seams and now she is going as Towelie!!!

This past thursday night I went to the main Halloween thing I was going to. Sure I'll still do something on Tuesday night though.
I ended up buying a leopard costume that was way overpriced, but it did look cute.
But I did manage to get my idea for next year. I was commenting about how half the girls at the bar were practically naked. Then I said I'd just come next year completely naked and be Eve. So next year I'm going to buy a flesh toned body suit and pin leaves in strategic places. I'm hoping to find an Adam by this time next year. And carry a serpant and an apple.
Either that or the group I hang out with and I are going to be the characters from Willy Wonka.
I saw the ex bf Thursday. We no longer speak or even look at each other, but my best friend and I almost pissed our pants when we saw his costume. He has bright red hair and our nickname for him (behind his back) was the deranged Leprechaun; the angry leprechan; a few other things that included the word leprechaun. Well guess what he was... a leprechaun!

OMG! My step-daughter just came over and brought the costume her mother bought her. It is called Devilish Fairy, but it should be called something more like Devilish Slut! The girl is TWELVE!! She'll be wearing red fishnets, slutty red dress with red fairy wings, red lips & nails (she is such a pale child and the red she has looks just garish!), and then my husband (WTF was he thinking!) bought her red, patent-leather, platform KMFM shoes to complete the look!

I can imagine where her mother bought the costume: Future Sluts "R" Us. Hope you've set your DH straight!

idk what i'm going to do, i always come up with my costumes like the day of or something. It's usually like a fairy or something dumb like that. This year, two of my roommates want to be ketchup and mustard and they want me to be relish lol. i was like.... um how about no.
They also want my roommate (who is a vegan) to be a hotdog, which I find hilarious.

If I dress up it will be in my Cat in the Hat costume. I tried to get my night professor to give us extra credit if we showed up in costume and he said no

I don't know what I want to be for Halloween. I'm deciding between a sailor, a snow queen, or a pirate. I'm going have to decide by Friday, because I will be getting my costume.

I think we are going to do the pirates thing this year. Hubby already has a very cool pirates costume I made him several years ago, and I can make Forrest the basset hound and myself pirate costumes.... it should be pretty funny. Although I thought about making Forrest the treasure chest. *lol* He would be so cute. But I think his own pirate costume would be better.

I wish I were more "homemakerish" so I could make my own costumes... I've been browsing online and can only find "hoochie-pirate" or "slutty-princess"... does anyone know of a place I could find a respectable costume?

Making a costume isn't that hard. Here's how I made Adam's pirate costume (still haven't started mine and Forrest's yet.)
We were very, very low budget at the time, so I did it with virtually no money.
I took a pair of old khaki pants and rolled them up to the capri level. Then I took socks, and with a red sharpie, made stripes on them. I took a thin white t-shirt and put holes in it, and used make-up to stain it up. I did buy a yard of cheap fabric from the store and tied it around his waist. Added some a few gold chains, a cheap eye patch, and a bandana. He wore shoes he already had. I did some make-up work on him, and spent some time on that, and I blackened his teeth with eyeliner. Here's a pic....(He won 2nd place)
The next year we did a redneck costume. We found a hideous hat, I think we used the same pants, and made our own camoflauge t-shirt with food coloring. Again I blackened out the teeth and did make-up to roughen him up. *lol* He won first place, if I remember correctly.
