Ok please don't put words in my mouth. Thanks. I never said that I was against hair transplants. I just don't think that every middle-aged mofo on there with a couple grand burning a hole in his or her wallet should go online, see that transplants are an option, and go for it. The fact that you read about it on the internet only proves my point.

I know nothing about hair transplants, don't have them and don't have any experience with getting them, but I figured I am qualified to offer you some advice that you should most definitely follow!
Be yourself and have fun! You should also make sure you call other transplant groups that are outside your area.
You should wear white shoes when you go to actually get the transplants, too.

You should not seek transplant surgeons, they should SEEK you!
Get out in the community and get involved and get to know some ladies with similarly thinning hair that is now thick and lush.
What do you have to offer??? Just cause you want something doesn't mean you're entitled to it!

Please don't hate on me for living out my dream. I have a lot to offer the hair transplant community. And the support groups for thinning hair is just nothing compared to the hair transplants groups around my area. I have a lot of bald head to offer the HT community! I think that if I'm willing to shop around for something that I want, I should have the right to get it. Plus, I do a lot of service work for people that might someday have no hair. I even help Hickey deliver some baby food to people at night. He says the bags with the white powder in them are baby formula & he takes them all over the bad side of town in the middle of the night to help people. Sometimes people give him money for it - sometimes they don't have any, and I'm supposed to stay in the truck while he gets out. He takes his shotgun - says he wants to make sure no rabid animals come after him. He fires it sometimes & then he drags something off into the woods. He must be killing some rabid animals or something, cause the other people (that didn't pay him), I don't never see them no more after that. Maybe they are afraid of guns... which is why I don't think people who don't do research for guns should own them. You have to shop around for the right gun for you. But there was something else I needed to say...

OMG!! You guys are SUCH good luck! I just had a phone call & guess what! I can save money by switching my insurance! Wow!! This is almost the best day of my life - just knowing this has made me feel really good about my potential as a hair transplant candidate. I mean with such good things going on, I just KNOW that Acme or Leroy's will want me! Because I was feeling so good after that call, I decided to go ahead & call Crazy Larry's Hair-Fare... they were not there so I had to leave a message. I just know with the message I left they will definitely want to take me! I made sure & told them that this was my dream & that I could definitely see myself fitting in with their clients. I also told them that I simply adored the cute guy in the ad campaign with no hair! I think he is the cutest! My cousin Hickey said that if I didn't get a call back soon, he could drive up there & have a chat with them. He said he'd bring his friend... Smith Wesson or something like that. See what a great guy he is? He wants to help me so much that he's going to bring a friend to talk with them about me.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

I think we should encourage her if it is her dream.
Didn't people support you when you had your eyebrows waxed? Is this not the SAME thing?!?
I know the former Surgeon General PERSONALLY. She told me that everyone should be able to get hair transplants, regardless of how old they are.

The flip flips sound lovely. I'm sure those will be fine, even though I have zero experience and am not affiliated with anything to do with hair transplants.

I can't believe you are naming names here. DISCRETION IS THE KEY! Shop owners do talk, you know.

Ok eyebrow waxing and hair transplants are NOT AT ALL THE SAME THING!!!! I don't know how much clearer I can make that. Just about every girl out there gets her eyebrows waxed and will usually get them done at different salons. All of the salons know that. Not everyone gets hair transplants, and if they do, they don't just salon-jump until they see something they like and proclaim "ooh, I'll take that one!"

Why is there no Hair Transplant Forum??
I think we should all be able to discuss Hair Transplants freely and openly...the WHOLE procedure. Start to finish. Insurance forms to Operating Room, and the effects on our life afterward. And, it shouldn't matter WHICH Clinic you went to. In fact, we need a list of all Clinics that offer Hair Transplants, including frequency of offers, ease of acceptance as a patient, and every step of how it works at that Clinic.

OMG, AlphaFrog - that is SUCH a good idea!! Then maybe adpiucf can create a sort of "master" list for all the salons that offer the service. She says that she has no experience with the process, but I think she would be a great person to make a list for people like me. I just wonder how many others are out there searching with no help like I am. I am having to do this all on my own - from shopping salons on the net, to contacting clients personally to get a recommendation for their salon. Then I have to call the salon directly - it is just such a let down when they hang up on me or tell me that they aren't looking for new clients.
Sister Havana - you say that shop owners talk, but don't you think that we all should have access to their records? That way we can seek out past clients & find someone to help us get "ahead" in the process. I don't think you should be so negative to me about my dream - I would love to call your salon & I'll tell them that you referred me!
And OMG - eyebrow waxing & hair transplants have a lot in common you know! They are both dealing with hair... specifically "moving" hair. And they are both on your head. I don't see why the process would be much different other from each other. adpiucf - don't you listen to the haters!

You all are hilarious!!!
ETA: This post may appear insensitive to those who have or seek hair transplants. I am not laughing at those people but rather laughing at the thought of someone inquiring about hair transplants so openly when they could seek guidance elsewhere. All in all, there are pros and cons to hair transplants and it is ultimately the discretion of the salon if they 1) offer transplants in the first place and 2) will grant a transplant to a particular person. Viva la wave de la future!!!

No, I don't think you should have access to the hair salons' records. How they select clients is their business - only employees and clients of that salon need to know that. Now, if a client or an employee comes to you and offers to get you an appointment, that's different and I have no problem with that. I don't think any of us on this board do. That's the way it should be.
Don't you know anyone in your family or community that's had hair transplants? They'd be better resources than random people on the internet.

Or what about the time one of your sisters had her eyebrows tattooed on? It's not her fault she was born with sparse 'brows. Let her fulfill her dream and stop hating!
