That's just nothing but high-school BULLSH*T, and I have read the same thing on the AI side. If a member gets into a fight on GC with PNAI, the first thing they say is, "We'll make sure you don't get in."

Obviously you didn't read that thread in its entirely or just forgot about what it actually said. The girl in question has a big time drug and alcohol problem. You also obviously didn't read the follow up, dear, as many people followed up encouraging her to base any potential action she may take on facts, not her personal drama.

I think potential AI members are tired of getting attacked for their interests and getting grilled by other GC members, who may NOT EVEN be a member of the sorority they are looking at, about why they want to join, etc. That isn't anyone's business, it's between the PNAI and the AA, and no PNAI should have to justify it to anyone on GC.
|
So you are not a member of a Greek organization but are already planning on what you will and will not do to advise other women looking to AI?
Most of the questions I have seen asked are the same questions the women will be asked by the organization they are looking to join. If they do not have a great answer here, I doubt they have a better answer in real life. But I'm with you- they should be keeping their interest more discreet so that their possible motives are not put in front of the whole internet to judge.

Considering PNAI's don't reveal the sorority they are considering AI with, you don't know if it's your sorority or not, so I still maintain that it isn't anyone's concern, because ultimately, it's up to the local AA anyway.

Yes Dear kddani, I did read the entire thread, and I how do you know that the person has drug and alcohol problems, because someone posted it on GC so you just assume it's true?
Her MAIN focus was it was the new girlfriend and she was upset b/c she got dumped and her ex has a few flavor.

Personally, I trust in my sisters' judgments.

I've read back about a year's worth of threads and only found 2 where I would agree were total fruitloops. The others, I thought, were asking general questions and were clearly attacked by those that are just against AI.

That's because other threads were deleted....which has been said numerous times.

Depending on the organization it may or may not be up to the local AA.
Which is, again, a problem with these blind postings. What is the point of these "pursuit" threads? Encouragement? What if the organization the woman is pursuing does not do AI or the woman doesn't meet their criteria- does she really need pages of un-related women posting, "Oh, I hope (Code Name) calls you back"? What purpose does it serve?

You're not in a sorority so you're having a hard time comprehending this. From what I understand, the AI decision is up to the local AA, the HQ, and maybe even some other people. If you met a girl at a bar who was dancing on top of the bar and stripping and the next night you saw her at rush, wouldn't you be cautious? That's the same thing for many of the women on GC. They are loyal and devoted members of their sororities and want to protect their integrity, reputation, and good names. If they see a PNAM on GC revealing their true colors on GC and acting in not so positive way, why shouldn't they try to influence HQ's decision when it comes to that person's AI?

Thank you.
In many of the AI threads, the PNAM stated that the AA had to wait for approval from the HQ. So even if the AA wants to initiate, they can't do so until they get the okay from HQ. I've seen instances where the HQ's sent back a big fat "NO." as well.
So no, it's not ultimately left up to the AA.
All of a sudden this forum's starting to reek of something sweet.

You're posting on a public message board. People can ask you questions. The only obligation to answer them is an internal social response. You don't have to answer a challenge, but if you don't want comments, don't post it.

How do you know ANYTHING on GC is true? You take it at face value. Why do you assume she doesn't? Are you the person that posted that thread? If not, how do you know what her focus was and what she knows?
I pointed it out because you conveniently left that out.

Exactly. In general (though AA policy VARIES between all the NPC groups), a local AA can recommend someone, but the (Inter)National Council has to approve.

Other threads have been deleted or edited. There are some PNAIs who got caught up in this fight, but usually the attack isn't so much at them as around them.
