OK I am a USC alum and I'll agree with both what macallan AND greekalum said. Still, a girl can hold out hope for LUCK to stand by her team and/or for that legendary Pete Carroll late season strength to kick in soon!

I'm sure they did, and Auburn looked a lot better against WSU than USC did. Auburn also looked better defensively in a win against LSU than USC has in any game this year. Granted, I'm not saying we couldnt/wouldnt lose to USC, we might, but I think Auburn playing well could very reasonably beat USC.

That being said, I think if AU doesn't make some serious changes this year, Auburn may be a lesser top 25 team when the years done. The talent is there, the coaches just aren't making good use of it. I think our focus has been too much on survival and the future, and we're not getting our best players on the field. Hopefully bringing in Tray Blackmon and Ben Tate this weekend will spark the team a little.

I'm pretty sure the "legendary Pete Carroll"-ness was found in the offseason, and will have to be scaled back to prevent scholarship sanctions in the offseason.

LOL was he smoking crack? I don't like Ohio State, but they're way better than USC.

Garrett Wolfe should win the Heisman. If you don't know, now you know.

I would be very surprised if the allegations ended up on Carroll's doorstep. Not saying it may not happen, but I doubt he is the bad guy in all of this. And if he is, damn who is his drug dealer because how does the man find the time? HA HA HA HA HA

Historically in the Carroll era our teams have found their rhythm in the later half of the season, that's all I was referring to in my last post. And let's hope so as we have Oregon, Cal, ND. lol

Not the best time for Manningham to be out with a knee injury. I hope its just the one game missed like the reports are saying. Hopefully Meechigan avoids their one trap game loss a season and make it to coloumbus unscathed.

The ACC has tie-ins to eight different bowls. (see below) The number represents the selection and not necessarily where a team finishes. So for example, after the BCS team is selected (winner of the ACC Championship game), then the Chick-fil-A (Peach) Bowl gets to select next. Then the Gator Bowl and on down the line.

Emerald at San Francisco
December 27
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)
ACC #6/#7 vs. Pac-10 #4/#5

Music City at Nashville, Tennessee
December 29
ACC #5 vs.SEC #6
(1:00 p.m. - ESPN)

Champs Sports at Orlando, Florida
December 29
ACC #4 vs. Big Ten #4/#5
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)

Meineke Car Care at Charlotte, North Carolina
December 30
ACC #6/#7 vs. Big East #3
(1:00 p.m. - ESPN)

Chick-fil-A (Peach) at Atlanta
December 30
ACC #2 vs. SEC #5
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)

MPC Computers at Boise, Idaho
December 31
ACC #8 vs. WAC #1/#2/#3
(7:30 p.m. - ESPN)

Gator at Jacksonville, Florida
January 1
ACC #3 vs. Big 12/Big East/Notre Dame
(1:00 p.m. - CBS)

Orange at Miami, Florida
January 2
ACC BCS v. BCS
(8:00 p.m. - FOX)

Times are Eastern

Unless you make it to a BCS bowl, you're looking at like 70 bucks. I wouldnt worry too much.

I think I've paid between $65 (Alamo Bowl, through the school's student package) and $130 (Outback, solid seats though) - obviously the Music City Bowl will be better than the Capital One, but yeah, just to add to what you said, the ticket really isn't a monster expense (esp compared w/ hotel etc).

Yeah, buying them through the school is the best bet, every time I did that I got good seats around people who cared around the game, and Auburn always overnighted them for free.

Do you have to be a student to purchase through the school?

The main thing I'm worried about is hotel. I'm hoping for either ATL or Jax, as I have friends in both of those areas, that is of course if they don't make it into one of the championship bowls.

I think it'll depend on the bowl. Like when Auburn played in the Peach or Outback, I could get tickets as a non student...It depends on alumni demand. Just follow the athletic department website around bowl selection time. But for bigger bowls, like BCS or Capital One, sometimes its tough to get tickets through the school because the donors will take up all the school's allotment. However, the bowls usually reserve a certain amount for general sale, so if I were you i'd pay attention to bowl predictions on collegefootballnews.com and sportsline.com come late november, and then as soon as youre sure (or willing to risk it) go to the website of the actual bowl game and get them if they're still available.

Regarding hotel, you ought to be fine, as Clemson will likely be 1st-3rd in the ACC. Start looking for good deals in Miami, otherwise you should be in ATL or Jacksonville unless Clemson loses a couple more.

Good advice shinerbock.

Most - if not all - bowl contracts usually have each school obligated to sell a certain number of tickets. Out of this number, tickets are reserved (allocated) by the university for the football program, athletic department, university administration, and student groups like the band. The university may or may not pay for these tickets. Any remaining tickets are then made available for athletic boosters, alumni and students. And often the university will release a number of tickets to travel groups so that the travel groups may set up packages (hotel, travel, game tickets) for the bowl games.

Clemson has a very loyal following in football, so I would guess that y'all's bowl tickets will go fast. I would suggest you contact the Clemson Athletic Department directly (go to the website and email them) and ask what their ticket distribution policy will be this year. There may also be some sort of "waiting list" for bowl tickets for alumni and boosters etc. as well. A lot of schools do this, and not everyone knows about it. To be on the list, you usually give a certain dollar amount (may be per ticket) and tickets are reserved for you. The money down is applied to your tickets and you just pay the difference - if any. If the school does not go to a bowl, then the money is refunded. Or you can remain on the list for next season. But be warned. Some schools may also require a sizable donation to the athletic department to be on the list as well. Again, confirm with the athletic department what your options might be.
