K, so what? I'm not using the Studds incident for any other reason than to refute the accusations that republicans as a whole are hypocritical.

Then if human beings, as a whole, are hypocritical, and Republicans are human beings, then doesn't it follow logically that Republicans, as a whole, are hypocritical? Or am I making unwarranted assumptions?

You're right. The same would go for Democrats, except when the process gets to "...and if Democrats are human beings" it begins to get unpersuasive.
